  1. So.. being that i have access to a large compressor and spray gun at my folks, which ive re-sprayed a few things with (mainly farm macheinery lol) Do you think its a good idea if i try spraying a spare bonnet i have silver? Ive never sprayed two pack paint before (silver + laquer) - any suggestions/tips?
  2. I see where your coming from on the supra excitment.... mines been off the road for the past three months while ive been working on it, took her out for the first time yesterday  Long straight road not far from me, noone else about for miles.... hit a speed my astra wont even do; in seconds. God bless the supra
  3. Canon 450D.. its the newer version of the 400D i have, very pleased with it (OR you could find a 400D very cheaply now as its last years model)
  4. Id much rather get stuck in and build/fix something myself, none of my previous cars have ever been to a garage in their life Lovely as a shiney ally tank would have been, i cant spend upwards of £50 on one, as you say! Second bit of bodging/modding for the day: Induction Heat Shield: (made from an old sheet of ally i found in the barn, that used to be attached to the back door to stop our great dane eating his way out...) http://www.streetmodified.co.uk/sm/attachment.php?attachmentid=489&stc=1&d=1241273347 Excuse the zip tie... i've yet to think of a good solution for holding the induction kit up!
  5. Next to the battery, in front of the washer bottle neck. Fits quite well, after i did it first time round and realised i couldn't close the bonnet as it sat too high - DOH
  6. Close.... off cut of square guttering down pipe, perpex end plates, recycled bracket off the supra i removed when fitting the FMIC, and the top bit off the old tank so the cap still fits Managed it without a fairy bottle or sticky back plastic though
  7. Made one I think i watched blue peter far too much as a child...
  8. You tell me this AFTER ive done it.. when i live 1/2 a mile from AFR. Shame on you
  9. Yes i saw it had the set up to draw water back in in the tank, but wasnt sure if the cap would allow this Hi ho hi ho... its off to the scrappy to find a small tank i goooooo
  10. Ive fitted an FMIC, which meant the tanks had to be removed, at the moment i just have a pipe running into the bumper. As i see it, all the tank does is catch overflow from the rad should it throw some out? As the cap will only allow water to pass once a certain pressure is achieved (about a bar) there's no way water can go back INTO the rad? Surly? Maybe ive missed something, hence asking the question, but id be interested to hear opinions!
  11. I know not... i did recommend to them either stating that its a kit for UK cars, or including a straight pipe in the kit for those without MAF's. Wether they do or not is up to them! In total i think this has cost me about £70, which isn't bad (£50 being the new bits ontop of the kit!) The only bits of the ebay kit remaining are the actual filter - which to all intensive purposes looks ideantical to the make up of a K&N, and the 45 degree shiney pipe. This is where i got all the extra pipe work from: http://www.jperformance.co.uk/ Very helpfull bunch, cheaper than samco etc, they gave me trade prices as id already bought an FMIC off them
  12. not just caravans.... Its not actually attached, nor do i have a tow bar - but having parked it up i couldnt resist the photo
  13. update... Came to an agreement with too fast too cool to refund what ive spent on new clamps, so they have a reprieve! Contacted the ebay company who supplied my fmic, who have been mosthelp full in supplying me with new silicone hoses and clamps for the induction kit:
  14. How much do you want for them? What sort of condition are they in?
  15. Doesn't have to be anything fancy... in once piece would be a good start though. I want to make a vented headlight out of it
  16. Well ive managed to get it to fit "for now" using some of the old pipe work and clamps as well. The shiney pipe and filter are probably worth £30 on their own, but im going to insist the supply me with the right clamps or they will be getting nasty feedback. The camps have up to 76 stamped on them.. which is great but the pipes 76 not the rubber! It does hoever sound fapping awesome just needs a tidy up at some point.
  17. What were the clamps like? Mine wont go over the thin rubber pipes!
  18. This is the thing... it was £30 plus postage the pipe and filter actually look quite good! Almost considering getting another bit of pipe, couple of samco's and some mikalor clamps! Is eeeeeeeeeeear: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220363670197
  19. I knew someone would take the wind out of my sails Still, doesnt state that in the ad.... sneaky ebaysssssss
  20. Evening all... i recently fitted an ebay special FMIC... which im happy to say isnt the subject of this as its actually very good for what i paid for it. It did however have some knock on effects, one being the pipe work getting in the way of the original air box. To get me around this and get the car moving (its currently off the road anyway) i bought a cheapo induction kit and pipe work, in the hope it would atleast be the bare bones i could knock into shape and add a cold feed to at a later date. Its turned up, and its clearly never designed to fit a supra! This is the image on the ebay add: Now i didnt spot this untill now, but since when did the supra have a MAF?! mine certainly doesnt yet the one in the photo appears to, which is a key ingredient in getting this kit to work The kit consists of a nice shiney pipe, two of the worst rubebr hoses ive ever come across, and four crap clamps that dont actually fit over the afore mentioned hoses... which makes fitting even harder! Anyway, avoid "2fast2cool2" on ebay, ill get my money back on this, but thought id save others the trouble, clearly they have never come into contact with a supra...
  21. Who's this then? http://asdesignsweb.co.uk/photos/albums/BRANDS_22-04-09/_MG_9400.jpg
  22. Friend of mine recently bought an S2000 and said something similar, coming from a BMW 328 he was used to some low down power and a relaxing drive. The S2000 has to be revved the nuts off of to get the best out of it Whats the MPG like on these? (just thinking high revving = less MPG?) All you need now is a pony tail and develop adinoids "oooh VTEC"
  23. Looks like a really nice car.... perfection can be achieved by driving it round your pot-holed yard untill that hidious front bumpers removed though I presume as its a "project" theirs something epic going to happen?
