  1. Cat 1 looks a bastid to remove
  2. Okay, I think I have 'cat 1' according to this I cant see the cat 2, so I guess this must be removed with exhaust. I'm thinking out loud, but any advice help welcome.............
  3. Sorry for this, but I have searched I had my Apexi Dunk Megaphone exhaust repaired yesterday. It had a huge long hole which had a panel welded over it. The car doesn't seem to boost as high as before, as I thought it might not. So, I am looking at a decat. However I'm not sure what I have. I was told the car had a hks front pipe (?) when I bought it. All I can see is one cat, where the exhaust angles up to the engine (?). I think that maybe the exhaust itself removes the other cat ? Can anyone shed any light, or maybe post a pic of the exhaust system, so I know what I need to buy. Thanks,

All the wires (apart from the abs ones) are at the ecu plug in the passenger footwell. The manual shows which ones they are. The abs sensor wires are at the abs ecu behind the stereo. I hope that's clearer. Sorry

I'd pay the extra though, just to have a button that says launch ! The difference in price is peanuts iirc

Fitting seems quite daunting but if you are confident doing a stereo with seperate amp and sub etc then it's no harder. I think there are 22 wires. 12 go in and out of the 6 spliced wires to the injectors. 4 go to the abs sensors. ground, power, an rpm signal 3 ? for the controller. Or something like that ! (I have only done mine) There is fitting instructions with diagrams with the unit (showing where all the wires are). And extra instructions from a certain helpful member of the board I hope I haven't made it sound worse ! Also, I have launch and haven't yet set it up, after 6 months !
  7. Well I can heartily (!) recommend the H&R height adjustable coilovers that I got from Ibrar Pro-alloys for £850 approx. These can be adjusted on the car. Firm but not harsh etc.........! Very pleased with them myself.
  8. If you mean the black plastic jobbers, 1 either side of the rear plate then........ I think it was a couple of screws on each at the top, and then some bloody strong double sided adhesive stuff. Just take your time, not too dificult. I levered them off with a plastic spatula braking the adhesive as I went (carefully)! See the 'lighter fluid on paintwork' thread for removing the adhesive......... I had lots of interest when I sold mine for 25 squid.
  9. well, no, but it might be worth a try
  10. I removed the traction (throttle) ecu beside the main ecu to put my rltc unit there.
  11. I can't remember, but just connect a bulb to ground and then to each wire in turn (with the lights on), I think there are only four. BTW I'm pretty sure that I found 2 contradicting diagrams for the clock wires.
  12. Does anyone have any figures for cars or people ?
  13. some pics http://www.phonepiks.com/phonepiks.php?category=Vehicles&month=7&year=2003 http://www.japcarclub.com/jae/gallery/jae03?&page=1
  14. BPU + race gas and what eyefi said should help. And reducing weight, ie. stereo, interior, air con etc........ Otherwise get your credit card out And you'd have to ask JIC, they are helpful though.
  15. I have never done this but.............this should help. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/airbag_light/airbag.htm
  16. Good stuff Kevin And Chris Glad to hear it and thanks for the update.
  17. I can only tell you that some people do run more than 1.2 with no problems. Others run no cats on a jap TT and don't even make 1.2 bar. Depends on the car. From what I understand, It is safer to run more boost with higher octane fuel. It's really a safety thing, and depends on how hard the car is driven. 1.5 bar on 95 oct on a track is asking for trouble. (All as I understand it ) Like Martin advised, and you were already going to do, fit a boost gauge and then you'll know You never really know the history of the car, but I wouldn't worry.
  18. Neil, are you aware of the need for a restrictor ring on most jap import TTs with no cats. Just to keep it to a safe level, generally less than or equal to 1.2 bar. If not, a search should bring up all you need.
  19. It's so blindingly obvious when you explain it sorry.............. oh well, I'm going back to bed..............
  20. If it's any consolation I didn't either, or my mate......... And we were perfectly sobre
  21. I am running 275/35/18 with no problems at all. Car is lowered on adjustables, not sure how much but you can see the pics on this thread........ http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8762&highlight=finally
