Right, sorry, I didn't realise the wastegate on a UK kept the boost so low. I thought it just kept it safe (18psi). Thanks for correcting me.........

AJI, it just seems that you're not making that much boost if you're not even hitting fuel cut (without a defender). Maybe that's how you want it though.

AJI, have you got a boost guage ? You should hit fuel cut at about 14 psi, I belive.
  4. Yeah, what the deal with that ? I've seen quite a few american supes with no filters at all ! Are they just too damn rich to care ?!?
  5. Cheers Paul Must be nice !
  6. Sorry for the off-topic, but, Paul, I remember you saying the Supes for special occasions, so I wonder, what is your daily driver ? And has the Supe become less street driving friendly now it's such a beast ? Or is it just thirsty as fcuk ?!? Cheers, G
  7. Good news. Glad to hear it
  8. I really don't know whether to spend 100 squid on some super plugs, or put the money towards my coil packs. I'm only running 1 bar so am I putting off the inevitable ? I guess the plugs have to be worth a go........
  9. I believe Chris Wilson (on this site) is the man for uprated brake pads.
  10. Cheers Chris, You answered my question before I even posted it !
  11. Oh well, beaten by someone who knows what they're talking about ! It still may be of help, I guess............ 18 thou eh ? I'll have to try that little extra bit.......... What is this worse that you speak of ?
  12. No techi, but I did find this at........ http://www.mkiv.com/faq/faqtt.html 5. the engine misses at high boost. try re-gapping original plugs or new plugs at .026"-.035". start high and work your way down until it stops missing. I have gapped mine all the way down but I still miss when I really go for it. I'm pretty sure it's my coil packs though...........
  13. Demon Tweeks do what it sounds like you're describing. "Flush fit valve covers" with flat head screwdriver top. They sell the air line adapter for 3.50. I couldn't find it on the net though, only in their catalogue. Give 'em a bell 01978 664468. HTH
  14. Oh yeah, doesn't the required offset completely depend on the style of wheel ?
  15. I personally think the gold car looks awesome ! Thank god he put a kit on it. And what a kit ! Anyway here is another Supe on 20s.........
  16. What about non turbos, same deal ?
  17. The door chirp was intermittent for me. I could tell it was an interior noise though, which is why I'm not sure this is any help but anyways............ http://www.mkiv.com/faq/faqtt.html#body3
  18. Is the chirp coming from the door ? Apparently quite common and easy fix (I did it).
  19. Not meaning to hi-jack, but I wasn't aware that an upgraded fuel pump (on a j-spec) was necessary at 18psi. Oh, and removing that cat will make it louder. And the restrictor rings are 'tuned' to whatever boost you require. Cheers,
  20. I read about poor emmisions and fuel consumption but I think I will know if I have a probem with those. But will I mess stuff up (damage the engine) if the gap is too low ? Cheers,
  21. I have recently put in the BKR7E and was misfiring at a little over 1 bar. I gapped them down to 0.7mm and that mostly sorted it. It did still miss on me once though. Can I gap slightly lower ? What are the negative effects ? The car is runnig nice and idling smooth. I asked NGK but they didn't really answer and just said fit some BKR7EVX (?), I think platinum tip or something. Cheers,
