  1. I fear the Supra is about to become "Edd's Mobile Mastabatorium"
  2. well both produce fluid with the correct technique so its anyone's guess
  3. I always thought it was to deploy the robot masturbation device from the boot? Mine doesn't have it so guessing this was an optional extra from the factory? I have to make do with the stereo on long journeys instead
  4. Was just reading a few threads on the SMIC, tempted to look into it. Failing that If I stay with the current setup I will be ducting it, guide on here somewhere I have saved.
  5. Sounds about right. another thing to add to the shopping list!
  6. Does it not help to strengthen the front end though?
  7. Time for a nice SRD front mount I think.
  8. I'm now tempted to go the whole way and strip the car and sell it off and get another one. Every time I go to do something there is some ham fisted bodge job that's uncovered. Decisions decisions.
  9. Ok thanks Dnk. You would think so yeah, but it was fitted with the bottom of the IC jammed against the inside of the bumper so an entire row of fins are flattened, and the brackets used to support the top of the IC were made from 1mm flimsy metal bent to a right angle. Bodge.
  10. Hi folks, Assume all Supras were made with a front crash bar behind the bumper? I decided to remove my bumper to sort out the rather poor intercooler install by the previous owner... we wont go into that. Car is a 1995 NA_TT: Stripped it all down to find this: going by this picture there should be a crash bar? So guessing it was removed to enable the crappy intercooler to be fitted badly, on the wonk> Do these bolt in or weld in?
  11. Just read this from start to finish.... the standard of work is stunning to say the least! One of the best build threads I have read, on any forum ever!
  12. Cheap to replace tho, thats the only bonus!
  13. Produces the good as always! Thanks Nic. Now just need to work out what Pin I need lol
  14. Thanks mate, Lyndon on here has very kindly offered me some pins as he has a load spare going to test the circuit this weekend anyway so still got stuff to get on with. Toyota did offer me the complete ECU block with pins for almost £200...... Poor guy didn't know what I was asking for lol
  15. That would be amazing, thanks Lyndon dont suppose you have ones that would fit the TPS plug as well? Obviously I will cover your time and postage Toyota want £16.95 +VAT for 1 pin! This is what I want to try:
  16. Ok they found 1 pin for the TPS connector, very reasonably priced at £16.95 +VAT... But drawn a blank on the ECU pin, will stick a post in technical and see if anyone knows the part number.
  17. Hi folks, as per post #197 of this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?278839-Throttle-Position-Sensor-(TPS)-intermittent-harsh-gear-changes-and-idle-problems&p=3628429&viewfull=1#post3628429 I need to source the part number for the ECU pin itself that the wire of the loom goes into. My local Toyota can find the TPS end, but not the ECU end, not even form the part number of the ecu connector block. Believe they are called a terminal repair pin (according to Toyota) Can anyone help? Thanks Si
  18. Local Toyota cant find the part number for the ECU pin, and are trying to tell me they only sell the complete connector block complete with pins. Does anyone know the part no for the pin itself?
  19. pop the little white insert out and the wires come free. remember to put them back the right way round. Tbh my old ones were do brittle I just squeezed them with pliers and they fell apart. here is the guide: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?61141-How-To-Refurbish-coil-pack-connectors BAH Steve beat me to it
  20. Right so had the car on this morning before work, the battery was out being charged so any error codes are well and truly gone. Fitted the battery, started the car left in P and straight away this time the idle was all over the place, including the car stalling. Restarted it and went to take it round the block and straight away same symptoms again, gear slams, hangs at 3k rpm. Now I know it can run a bit differently when the ecu is reset as have done it a few times. checked ecu and almost straight away this time error 41. So Its not temp related as the car would still have been cold, so going to poke the electrics this weekend Its not going to beat me!
  21. Wow thanks guys!! Going to be a busy weekend then! I will order the plug/pin parts tomorrow and get cracking from there. Will run a wire direct from sensor to ecu first before I go poking about with a multimeter. Once I have reset the ecu and cleared the codes its usually around the 10min mark that it plays up again. Yet it will sit and idle just fine in P or N on the drive. Bloody thing, I want to hate it but I just can't determined to fix it Oh and I have already started on the beers in anticipation
  22. Nope no other error codes stored, always code 41. Tell me about it mate, however I now have a daily driver so that massively takes the pressure off fixing the Supra, plus last time I was also studying hard for a new Job and was stressed from that, which didn't help. So walked away from it for a month and ready to have another crack at it. Old autobox was toast, the new one is so much smoother (until the code 41 returns and it slams itself into gear) Ok thanks, don't suppose there is a part number for the pins? Haven't had error 47 its always 41 so that makes sense.
  23. Have run the car with 2 different TPS mate, both work fine for about 10 mins, then it goes back to same issue again and error 41 appears again. Both TPS sensors have been tested off the car and the values are within the ranges in the service manual, both have been fitted and aligned with a multimeter correctly as per manual. so must be a wiring issue. Tempted to try a brand new TPS but dont want to fork out £150+ if its not the issue. So need to learn to fault find with a multimeter myself.
  24. Also found this to work through http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/engine_2_41.htm
