An important warning!!!! Please note - the below is very worrying, especial as it could happen to you all - everyone is a potential victim I'm not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close miss today. I walked into B&Q and some old guy dressed in orange asked me if I wanted decking. Fortunately, I got the first punch in and that was the end of that. Those less suspecting might not be so lucky. Be careful out there ... . Carl

I think as mentioned earlier, the comments made by Jade are due to her ignorance & stupidity. Nothing more than that. Some of her comments could be contrived as racist but I really dont think this is the case. Why do I think this is unlightly, well mainly because she probably doesn't even know what racism means, she's just too stupid. Lets hope now she's been evicted that thats the last time we have to see Jade on UK TV. Carl

Oh Sorry... Didn;t like to think anyone desperate for one hadn'y seen it. You could always offer the guy selling a buy now deal. Sometimes they agree a price & send you a private invoice via Paypal. Done it myself a few times. Carl

As a general rule of thumb, buy plasma if going for 37" or bigger. Buy LCD is smaller than 37". Early Plasmas did suffer from picture deteriation after a few years. Now adays technology has moved on a lot and you will not see any noticeable defects on a plasma for probably ten years of normal watching which is way longer than most people keep there units anyway. I personaly own a Panasonic Plasma-(42PX60B) which can now be bought for less than a grand and it is nothing short of superb. You will have to spend twice the money to get anywhere near the same image quality in an LCD and even then I would argue than LCD's still suffer motion blur problems on fast moving pictures on screens larger than 37". Dont go by shop recommendations as they dont usually know what they are talking about and the pictures are rarely ever set up properly in stalls so dont give a good representatin of the TV's true picture potential. If you want good advice on anything like this go read up on the AVForums and you will find the Pro's & Cons for both Plasma & LCD's. Carl

Id say the 16's with good tyres are probably better grip than the 18's but the auto;s can catch you out on the second turbo in the wet. I have had a few wiggles from the rear end particularly kicking down or changeing up from second to third. I now drive with a very light foot in the wet. Carl

I recently fitted a mongoose exhaust to my TT. It's basicaly as quiet as the original with just a faint increase in tone. I also did not want too much noise. I still have my cats in so it may increase a little but Im pretty sure exhausts dont come much quieter. The car responds & feels much better too with the 3" system. Carl

My connection is upto 8mb. I rareley ever get more than 3mb tho. Only got just over 2mb tonight but it has been a bit slow. Carl

My missus loves the Supra. She feels quite good when she is driving by herself in particular. You know most men feel intimidated by a young women driving a powerfull car... Only time she gets nervous is if the back end wiggles in this wet weather.lol. Carl

Thesrs a blue supra with white wheels that parks near eagle star or eagle towers as its known now in Cheltenham. Seen this one a few times so I gather the owner works or lives near by. I think I have also seen your car POT driving past near my area through Churchdown. You are Silver with non standard wheels are you not, usually with some rather loud dance music playing. Last time I pulled up beside you in my Blue Rover Diesel in diguise..lol. Carl

TT aerotops are rare and a sports exhaust on a N/A will sound lovely. Carl

Im no expert on these cars as I have only owned mine for about 6 months but you may want to consider the twin turbo version that can be picked up for around £6000-£7000 in just as good condition. This would be more comparible in perfrmance terms to what you have been used to with the STI. Dont get me wrong, the NA Supra is a fine motor but I dont believe they are that tuneable and you will only achieve small gains with exhausts etc. The TT on the other hand is a case of "how much power do you require"? Sure others will be along to correct me shortly anyway.. Carl

Yeah, it makes you feel like not using the site again. It just seems to easy for people to get away with ripping people off in my oppinion. Its something Ebay/Paypal need to address better. It's all very well Paypal paying you back but what about the people ripping you off.. He/she just gets away with it. I,d rather let Paypal keep my £40 to see the fecker responsible locked up for a week. Might make him think twice about doing it again. Knowone wants to deal with the problems these days, just shift it somewhere else. If these people know they can do this and get away with it, it's just going to get worse & worse. Rant almost over.... Carl

I bought an item from Ebay just before Christmas. The item never arrived. I sent emails and the guy replied with various emails back saying the item had been despatched. He sent tracking numbers that didnt work and more promises of a newly posted item followed by a full reembursement. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the seller was full of S**t and just lied through his teeth over a 3 week period. In the end I give up asking the guy as it was clearly getting me nowhere and reported the whole thing to Paypal through which I had payed the seller. After two weeks Paypal have gone in my favour and re-embursed me £25 of the £40 I originaly paid. Ok, I got some of my money back but this guy must be laughing. Apparently there were several others in my situation. I dont understand how people like this can rip you off then just get away with it. Guess he'll be back on under a new alias now. Further more, Paypal take a good proportion of everything you buy & sell & yet will not cover your losses in full should this type of situation arrise. I do feel severely shafted. Its not so much the money but the principle of the whole thing. Rant Over... Carl

Im looking forward to the New Rocky Balboa movie. You know it's probably not going to be the best plot in the world and it fair to say at some point Rocky will get mashed a bit then come back with the killer blows but hey, thats exactly what I want from a Rocky film. I still remember going to see Rocky 4 at the cinema, was a great experience. The tention when Appolo went down... , gripping stuff. Cant say if the final film will be as good but I think ill enjot it whatever. Carl

I dont think I have a leek or at least no reason to suspect one. Car seems to be running about 10psi before which is roughly 0.7bar. I here that stock boost is usually between 0.7/0.8 bar so I gather mine was about right for stock. Of course I cant garantee my boost gauge is 100% accurate. Its only a cheap autogauge. I had heard that putting an aftermarket exhaust from the cat back would most likely increae boost a psi or so and it did. Ill take some pics tommorrow although it looks like the std exhaust. Same diameter etc.

I bought a mongoose exhaust second hand of somebody a while back and have never gotten around to fitting it. Anyway, popped up to my local Pro-tyres today and got them to fit it on, cat back system. They charged me a very reasonable £40 fitting. I was after a quiet exhaust hopefully not much noisier than OEM. The Mongoose fits that decription very well. It's comparible in exhaust note to a Standard 3 series 2.5 BMW. It has a nice little burble on tickover and with just a little gas being applied. Never intrusive and not so loud as to be head turning. Being 3" diameter is will be less restrictive and that is quite apparent in response despite still having both cats still in place. I noticed that the boost has crept up by about 1.5psi and have to say how much quicker such a small difference makes. My gauge is registering about 11.5psi. The car pulls much stronger. I,m quite amazed at how as little as a psi or two can be so noticeable. God only knows what 1.2 bar would feel like . Stsarting to see what the extra could do for me now.... Carl

Another reason why my Supra doesn't like the cold....
Carl replied to Jim_1979's topic in Supra Chat
I changed mine for new ones and the hatch still creeks in this cold. I,d not worry about it too much. As for fitting, they should be dead easy if the posi-head srews come out ok. Make absolutely sure that you use the correct screw driver. If you dont, you will probably round them off, then you will have to drill them out & thats a total bitch, I know from bitter experience. Excellent Article. For someone like myself who will be going BPU after Christmas, this sort of info is very usefull. Carl
