  1. When I push the gas to the floor in first I get a good surge of power which takes me through the gear very quickly. Definately turbo cutting in strong. Mines standard as well. Carl
  2. Not a ten minute job then. Might have to put up with the beep for a while. Im not removing all the dash to get at it.
  3. I just wondered how easy it is to disconnect the reverse beep on my J-=-Spec Auto TT. Cheers Carl
  4. http://www.gamecopyworld.com You will find all the cracks here. Oblivion is defianately there and definately works.. Carl
  5. There never seems to be a rock solid rule to fines or bans. Really depends on the location, weather, police person and or courts. I had a friend done for doing 103mph down the Motorway. He went to court and got a fine and 2 week ban. He di have soome other points to. Other people have got of with just points and fines. Unfortunately, its a case of wait and see and as others have said, lay it on that you need a car for getting to work if it comes to that. Carl
  6. Oh right, sounds like I payed far too much then. well you live & learn, lol Open to sensible offers then. Carl ps-how do you get hold of Nic the Pimp, I have sent 4 emails and had no reply. Is he on Holiday?
  7. When I bought my Supra I thought there was scratches on the auto gearknob so I bought another from a broken Supra. It turns out it was a bit of dirt so the gearknob I bought is surplus to requirements. If anyone needs one for there auto, then this ones for sale for the price I paid for it, £25... apparently it has the mechanism on it as well as the guy couldn't be bothered to take the gear nkob of it. Carl
  8. I have no idea what the technical word for these are but I am after the two rubber blocks that the boot lid slams on to when you close it. Mine look a little perished. I am after new ones. Cheers carl
  9. Lets hope so, sounds scarily like head gasket problems doesn't it. I would imagine if this were the case you,d be seeing a dramatic rise in the temperature gauge tho. Carl
  10. Porsche looks nice. Should be quite an animal. I have not really done much with the cd player other than load in 6 discs and play-lol. Might look into settting it up properly at some point when I find a spare moment. Carl
  11. Noticed these on Ebay for anyone interested. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-MK-IV-1193-1997-Rear-Lights-Pair_W0QQitemZ330005248696QQihZ014QQcategoryZ10428QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rear-Lights-MKIV-Supra_W0QQitemZ8054591411QQihZ019QQcategoryZ43120QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Carl
  12. Cheers John for that, I have heard this from others but it just seemed a little odd thats all. Other than that, all seems fine. Pleased as punch. Just got back from a Supra meet at Intopro in Bristol. Even if it had of turned out to be a strange fault, I'd have just got it repaired John. As far as I am concerned I have bought a genuine looked after car and am very pleased with it. How you getting on with the Car search anyhow? Carl
  13. I have a Rover Coupe turbo on my drive. Needs 4 pistons to get running again as they were looking a bit tired. It runs a genuine 350-400bhp and theres very little to touch it to be honest. I now have my Supra Turbo which is a better car by far but it would not have kept up with my Rover,at least not till about 140 when my head gasket would probably have blown as mentioned earlier-lol Never under estimate any cars these days. There are beaten up old Novas that would embarras Porsche 911 turbos up to 120mph. Carl ps-If anyone wants to buy a stupidly fast Rover Coupe then let me know....
  14. Sorry, I meant overdrive was on, eg no light illuminated...
  15. It is a J-Spec. What does all that mean, speedo convertor etc, is this easily fixed? Whats involved in getting this checked out?. Cheers Carl ps-mattanna-Over drive was definately not on.
  16. Well mine will hit the rev limit and still not want to change untill I let of a little. Feels like Im gonna damage the engine when it doesnt change. It's not that I particualrly drive the car hard much but now I have noticed it, I want to put it right. Carl
  17. Ok, I must have an intermittent problem. The gear change did the same thing again earlier. 3rd gear to 4th gear just didnt want to change untill I let of the gas a bit. Any techies with ideas. Transmission fluid?, or something more sinister? Help appreciated as its concerning me now. Carl
  18. Ok, maybe I got strange Gremlins. I went back out in it to double check things. Floored it from every which way at all speeds including standing starts and it changed faultlessly everytime. How strange. Maybe because the previous owner drove it so carefully it wasn't used to the rev range up there. Anyway, couldnt get it to do anything wrong now. Hopefully it was some strange one off thing or else I caught the box right at a very bad gear change point. Anyway, feel better now it seems ok again. I can sleep again tonight-lol..
  19. Yes, thats what I am saying, It just bounces of the limiter till I release the pedal to allow it. This cant be right. Just wondering if anyone else has had this fault and what might be causing it. I have only owned the car a week and didnt pick up on it during the test drive as I never went to any great speed to experience it. Carl
  20. Yes, but surely the idea is for the autobox to change automaticaly. Once the limit for that gear is reached it should change up automaticaly. I appreciate with your foot right down it will rev to red line but it should still change up without me coming off the pedal, surely? Unless this is a Supra thing. Does everyone else with the auto have to come of the gas to get fourth when flooring it through these gears?
  21. I seem to have a problem with my auto box and was wondering if anyone has any ideas what it might be? If I am doing a steady 60mph and put my foot to the floor the gearbox will drop two gears to second and the car accelerates. It changes ok into third, foot still to the floor but goes all the way through third to the rev limiter and bounces off again but does not change untill I let my foot of the gas. Clearly this is not right as it should change through all four gears automaticaly. It goes through all four gears fine when not flooring it. I defiantely dont have it in manu mode or the buttom pushed for only three gears. What could be causing this and is it adjustable somewhere. Carl
  22. Carl

    Manual mode

Id also like to know how this works. You have L & 2. I was under the impression that L is for pulling of in bad weather, eg snow so pulls of in a higher gear. Not presumably good for quick pull off's. Does pushing the Manual button change the gear back to first hence giving full acceleration back? Carl
  23. Carl

    Manual mode

lol, Im too new and too scared to try that in mine yet.
  24. Does anyone have a spare boot lid strut. My driver side one has failed and the boot will not stay open by it's self. Cheers Carl
