another possible mother may pass away on mothers day. my father's this time. has just had a phone call from his sister and it sounded a bit serious. he's just left for the hospital now. she hasnt been suffering but old age has taken its toll on here the last year and shes been in and out of hospital for a while.

couldnt agree more. my grandfather hasnt long finished another course of chemo and radio therapy for prostate cancer. i had the job of bringing him home after one session and the state he was in was heartbreaking. we had to pull over every few minutes for him to be sick and then just wretching because there was nothing else to come up and he genuinley looked like he was in a lot of pain. one of his pet hates is when we are carefull in what we say. he's not one to mince his words and he expects others to be the same no matter how insensitive it may seem regarding his condition.

i dont blame him. i bet he's got media deals up to his eyeballs.

if i have to listen to that advert one more time im gona smash the tv up! she sounds absolutely horrendous in it and looks even worse! this advert and yesterdays performance almost makes me feel ashamed to be welsh

when i lose (big,bad beat etc) i have a break for a few days. this was one of the first bits of advice i was given when starting out in poker and i know many others do the same. poker is a game of variance. no one makes a fuss if you hit a straight on the flop but if you catch runner runner for a straight then ou are accused of all sorts of luck. hands are gona happen its as simple as that. people will hit lucky on the river, people will flop quads, hell some people even hit a royal flush. the game is full of odds and with so many hands being played online beats are gona happen. a few weeks back Pokerstars played their 25th billionth hand. imsure somewhere in those 25billion hands was more than a fewbad beats.

but it doesnt benefit the poker site at all as theyve had your money whe you register and have the rake in cash games. i dont know about others (although the more experiencedplayers would agree with me) but if i take one or two bad beats in a session i have a break for a few days. this then is lowering the amount the site makes off me as im not gona be playing as often. the one thing i do notice though is that most people tend to remember theyre bad luck much more than theyre good luck.

many more hands are played online so bad beats will crop up more often. i still cant understand why people say its fixed, fixed for who? the other guy who won? i just stick with PL Omaha these days and only cash games, never any tournaments or sit and goes. i find it much easier to win more money playing omaha rather than texas. back to the 'fixed' bit heres a hand described excactly how it was played by my mate (marc) at a live cash table last week... blinds £1/£1 everybody folds small blind raises to £5 marc (big blind) calls flop - 9c As 2c small blind bets £10 marc raises £30 big blind re raises £60 marc goes all in for a further £80 big blind calls. both turn cards over and marc shows Ac 6c (top pair plus nut flush draw) small blind shows Qc Jc (no pair and lower flushdraw) at this point other people on the table made a point of saying what they had folded and 3 Queens had been folded leaving only 3 remaining jacks to save the small blinds hand.... turn - Jd river - Js!!!! small blind wins with a set. if that had happend on line there would have been all sorts of fix accusations.

one of my best mates suffered this. hes now 26 and his nickname is craig dribbles (or dribs for short), he's as thick as two short planks, not got much going for him in the looks department and ginger. but he is an awesome mate and i wouldnt swap him for the world.

i went through a phase of smoking while id be on nights out. as i wasnt a regular smoker if gave me a nice buzz from the nicotine. as soon as the smoking ban came in i stopped as it was too much hassle having to leave the premises to have a smoke. during that phase however i never felt the urge of having a cigarette during the day.

like a well set up single with a good driver scenario.
