Ooooh do I hear the patter of a project cars tiny feet? I was looking through banzai mag the other day and saw an RX7 with a Supra engine conversion (albeit a turbo). I reckon the NA could still be a pretty potent little practice drift engine if dropped into a light enough shell??? One of the guys on the boat with me has just had a Civic type R engine conversion done into his Elise and an Exige back end put on. Thats probably where my crazy idea is coming from! What can we shoe horn an NA into??? Dave

Lookin good bud! Where do I sign up for her to make my Sup look like that?

Aw bugger! seems everytime there's been a good Supra day this year I've been offshore and missed it. I'm off for the next month so can't manage this, would have been good to see what the old girl could do even though she's the slow, auto version. Marc mate is yours gonna be 'ready' for then?
-
Aye, thats a vast improvement on the J-specs. If I had been sensible I would have gone ahead and done this along with the repeaters/side lights instead of waiting all that time to get Jon to do mine. You need to get a set of HID's from Knightracer next, I can vouch for their kits. Easy to fit and had no probs with mine. You still head in the books Eve?

Alright guys, Anymore thoughts on this? I'm still keen if everyone else is? Regards Dave

I was having a browse through the net, thinking what would I buy if changing out the Supra. I decided as I always do that there isn't anything that would tempt me away for the same money. So got to thinking about a fun second car that I could take on the track too. Criteria I was thinking up were, smaller, light weight, rearwheel drive and Japanese (Toyota ) if possible. I Started looking at Celicas and MR2's then saw a few MRS's in the autotrader. On searching further I found out you can get a full stage 3 turbo kit from Thor racing for these bringing them to just over the power levels on an NA in something much lighter. Has anyone had experience of the conversion and driven one with the kit? Any other suggestions?

At least I'm not the only one who missed out. I managed to bugger up my neck yesterday kayaking, so decided to give it a miss. Hope the meet was a success though, I would have gone regardless of the weather.

See that is what I was thinking about now, getting some cheaper recaro's from a different make of car then goin down the full retrim path. I'm still humming and haaing, but I've got plenty good ideas in my head. These Corsa VXR ones just seemed nice and cheap, I'll post the link once I find it again.

Just seen a nice set of recaro's on ebay from a VXR corsa, would these be retro fitable to a Sup? They seem a good price if they can be.

Aye I should be around on the 30th, and I'll finally have access to the offshore cash that I missed collecting this month by one day bas***ds... oops now you'll all want a couple of drinks off me Right off for a burn now the cars a bit cleaner. Dave

Sounds good to me too! Count me in. Dave

Hallo Claire, Looks like you've got the hang of the avatar. Now we need pics of the Sup. Dave

Mark you were spotted passing Union Street today lol

Gid Gid, more the merrier, sounds like its gonna be a good fun meet. The coast road is nice. Fingers crossed that Mike gets it fixed. I've not actually been on a drive with him yet to see what his car can do. Wallace service been good so far? -

Looks like you got spotted mate! How did it go with Mikes liner at Wallace Performance? all sorted now I hope. Be good to meet you if you can manage it down to the Montrose Coastal Dash Venom. Dave -
I have to admit those do look the absolute dogs dangleys. A very classy look in leather. Thats the problem I now face, having seen yours and checked out the different options on the other seats I like too I can see that what I want is either full tan leather and the back seats redone in that too or any of the chosen seats in a nice black leather with green lettering as on my current retrims. Too many choices! Cheers for the pics..... Confused.
-
Shame you won't make it Wookie, better to get your brakes done though, I know I was wishing I'd had mine sorted before that last run I came along to at Inverurie. Are we still looking at 10th Aug? for this Montrose Coastal Dash. I'm looking forward to driving the Sup, had a cheeky wee nip out to drive it when we popped back into port for a crew change the other day. 10 more days out here and I'll be desperate to get back behind the wheel. Having said that things are going well with this offshore lifestyle and if it continues I could have a new job and be thinking about the next Supra sooner than I thought. Roll on the 10th, a high speed convoy and some good grub at the end of it, can't be bad! Dave

Razza's car from here, he was even letting it go for less than his original price, but you may have missed that bargain now! Good luck on your search!
-
Already had a retrim when I bought the car, its more for the extra holding of a sport seat that I'm after. Your probably right and I should just stop being tight and go for two Misanos. On that note does anyone have pics of these fitted in their Supra??? Cheers Dave
-
Been thinking about upgrading my colour coded leather front seats to something a bit racier with more bolster, that actually holds you in. I've seen a few nice seats that I like: Cobra Misano Sparco Chrono Recaro - don't know the name but its the ones that came as an option. Will it look silly if I go for just one and leave the passenger side as leather? ( I've found sports seats can be a bit uncomfortable over a long journey if your not the one doing the driving.) Also If I do go for just the one is it possible to swap the top part of the drivers seat cover over to the passenger side? passenger side is a bit scuffed but drivers is a ok. Anyone got pics of just one race seat and one normal? Cheers Dave

Hmm, Personally I'd steer clear. It may seem ok in the pics, but most of Dee's stock is a wee bit tatty round the edges and tends to have a few less than tasteful mods. All stuff he'll sort for you, but at a price. The price seems a bit steep in my opinion. If you have your heart set on a really nice green twin then check out the for sale section. I don't think Razza has sold his yet, its by far the nicest I've seen. If I was onshore I'd have taken a look for you while down visiting my relatives mate. Dave

It's a great idea and had I been a bit closer and actually tried snowboarding/sking before I would have come down. Can't really justify that drive though just for a meet. Hope you guys have a good meet and we get plenty of pics of your cars.......and you fallin on your arses Dave
-
I've not really been to any of the central meets yet so i'd be keen to come along to this Ian. Is it open to complete beginner snowboarders as I've never tried that either and wouldn't mind giving it a go. Regards Dave

Sounding good to me too. Your time of 1 hour is taking into account sunday drivers. I've done it in a much faster time than that Even in the NA Marc I'll be there 1. marcAB10 2. Greenauto 3. 4....

Sounds good Marc, I'd be up for August. Should be back onshore by then. As far as involving other clubs, the more the merrier I guess. The liners are a decent crowd and i wouldn't mind seeing some of the evos either. I'm not going to make it down to Fast & Modified in July so it would be nice to catch up with everyone at this.
