  1. Funny thing was I never realised it was a convertible so yes I'm hoping for the sun this weekend:) I know nothing about Mercs but I did tell the sprayer not to rush:)
  2. So far so good the assessor has been round and said the car is repairable Since the accident I've been thinking of changing the colour of the car and have been speaking to my sprayer, lets hope all goes well. On a plus side Britannia have provided me with a like for like car Thanks again drnas78 https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/2008/07/62.jpg[/img]"] https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/2008/07/63.jpg[/img]"] Still trying to source parts so if anyone can help I need a N/S front wing and a N/S door.
  3. Thanks for the pm - will speak to this guy in the morning & pm you mate Wasn't asleep at the time, heard the screech of the tyres but didn't hear no bang - I had my Jack Daniels head on! Probably better I didn't go out as I wouldn't have be so calm as my neighbour Have already thought of this one too - not sure how it works but discussed with my neighbour that it might be the way the claim works - ultimately (I hope) the money will come from the 17 year olds insurance No mate - were on the car when I bought it I would have phoned the police if I was aware - I'm not going to waste my time as last time I was hit, the police were uninterested as no-one was hurt - I think he deserves to lose his licence as he must have been speeding badly to come off the road so much I thought the bonnet was ok, but on closer inspection it definately looks like it's folded down where the car has taken the impact Cheers mate - appreciate that! I will let you know asap if I'm going to sort the repairs myself Thanks again for all the comments - big plus for me is no-one was hurt, the body kit & alloys look to be mainly damage free but most importantly, I'm supposed to park my car the other way (we changed it a few months back) so my car would have taken all the impact from the front head on - I would have been truly gutted then!
  4. I did hear something when it happened at 2.50am but didn't get up. Fortunately, the neighbour was woke up by a guy & girl arguing outside after coming from a party behind us (where I'm assuming the punto kids were heading). Then he heard the accident, ran down & they were trying to start the car. I would think they would have scarpered if it started, seeing the damage to two cars. The neighbour got there in time & got all the details - shame he didn't call the police as the skid marks on the corner show he must have been doing excessive speeds (it's a 30mph zone!) Just glad we got the details!!
  5. Thanks for your support, I think it can be repaired as the damage seems to be just the door and front wing. There is some damage to the skirt which can be repaired and I hope the bonnet will be ok. What do you recommend I do - go through Sky to get it sorted, or use accident exchange? It happened before to me with my last car & I ended up with a crap people carrier as replacement car - as it took a good few months to settle, I was stuck with it. Saw on another thread that someone got a lexus as a replacement through accident exchange. Also, if it is fixed, can I claim for loss of value? Here's better pics of the sup. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/2008/06/992.jpg[/img]"]http:// https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/2008/06/993.jpg[/img]"]http://
  6. Was just getting ready for work this morning when my neighbour knocked at the door with bad news - some stupid 17 year old kid had taken the corner too fast at 2.50am and wiped out the fence, went straight into my neighbours car which then went straight into mine. I don't know what you all think (photos attached) but I hope it can be repaired as I have just got the car as I've wanted it. Typical I'd just replaced the tyres & brakes, and stuck a leather interior in it. Pretty sure the neighbours car is a write off. Incredible the damage a fiat punto can do to two big heavy cars. I've got better pictures of the damage to the Supra but can't upload them to Photobucket at the moment as I've just entered the wrong password and need to wait Will upload later. Been pretty pi##ed off as I can't speak to sky insurance as they are not open on a Sunday - I phoned QBE Insurance who took a message, and at the end of a lengthy phonecall, told me they'd pass the message onto Sky in the morning!! After looking on here, I phoned Accident Exchange, but they aren't open on a Sunday either. I'm annoyed as I need to get to work each day & need a replacement car but can't get anything sorted. Great start to my Sunday
  7. Was having a break down in Cornwall and spotted a Silver Sup driving through the high street of Falmouth on Wednsday.
  8. The hair dryer trick worked well for me after one of my bulb holders wasn't sealing properly, just make sure if you try this to keep moving the air over all the holes
  9. http://www.skyscanner.com - checks all the low cost flights for your choice of destination. I've used this site quite a bit before
  10. haha did a search before I put up the post - all must have typed at the same time
  11. Just been watching the Inbetweeners on E4 and on the last scene on the A2 they are at the side of the road and a kitted orange supra drives past. Looks very like Fat Controllers old car - will be on again at 11pm on E4+1 if anyone didn't see it
  12. Left kick panel? This might be on the U.K models? You will probably find it won't have a standard fuse holder for it as it wasn't standard with J-spec? You might need to follow the wires from the switch. I'm not at Japfest this year so can buy everyone in the club a drink from me
  13. In the drivers foot well on the right there is a plastic trim cover - remove this, there you will find a small box with FUSE wrote on it, remove cover and you should find the fuse
  14. I think I might book a days holiday so I can make this:) Nothing like a bag of sugar from the Donut babe:cool:
  15. I spend a lot of time over there as my gf is Northern Irish. As Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, they are still sterling. Only the Republic of Ireland is using the euro. Your english notes will be accepted over there (no problem) their notes are different, but exactly the same currency - just don't try to spend them over here, shops don't normally accept them
