1. After 14 weeks my Supra is back.Exactly what the delay was i don't know.My turbos blew and i went the hybid route.Thankyou Ian and Heckler for your advice. They were built by AET Turbos ,the precise spec i am waiting for, along with a breakdown of my bill:£2500.They have been converted to 'TTC'.The car is outstanding. There is a little more lag, then the altogether now mighty rush of constant boost.100 comes up with consumate ease, the power doesn't let up.Only just got her back so i haven't played too much with her.(i live in a small tqwn of 25000 people and the plod shop is only a quarter mile down my road and pass my house umpteen times a day.So i have to choose my moments)Running 1.3 bar boost with the controller.Went down to the shops this morning and promptly whacked a low speed bump and nipped a chunk out of the middle of the Whifbitz bumper. No,I refuse to let anything stop my moment of happiness now that she's back:not that or even the BILL!Will get some pics up soon.Happiness is egg shaped:)
2. I was going to say:a Swedish meet and what do we get:pics of cars and some blokes whose trousers have shrunk. Then Ulrik lad you did us proud.Aye,there's some reet nice ladies in Sweden.Though they were all wearing more clothes than the one and only time i was there.Shades of I was curious yellow.Or was that Danish?Still a cracking post mate.
3. Sitting on the throne tonight.Thought:why in a jep car it's a blow off valve, and in just about everything else it's a dump valve? Both sound like bodily functions. You can't even call it a 'release' valve.Sounds even more like a bodily function.Just athought as i sat and contemplated.Still no car:3 months.Going stir crazy.
4. Re-registered mine here in N.Ireland.05 plate-PKZ
5. I live in Larne Dave and bought my car (belter)from Paul Whiffin, good dealer and cars.Had i not bought from him,it would have been Jurgen. Both are good, reputable dealers.Buy from either and you won't go far wrong.
6. Zymol....sticky,slippery and sweet.....mmmmm Zymol

Silhouette

My car is still being repaired,so i'm bored.Anybody notice the silhouette of the new Ferrari 559,put a spoiler on it and it could be a Supra;especially the roof line.Told you i'm bored.
10. Don't try it in N.Ireland.I was done for 72 on an A road. One copper,no 'vascar'or video evidence. His word against mine.Three points but no fine and an absolute discharge,no idea what that meant.Count your blessings.
11. Welcome to the club mate!Read my post. The blokes here on mkiv have been really helpful.Only decision to make is:single or hybrids.I'm still thinking and counting my pennies.Good luck
12. Thats what i have been thinking.I wouldn't like to spend money twice on this.I'd rather spend more now and have a finished job(be broke earlier than later). The choice seems to coming down to hybrids or a single. Can anyone give me the pros and cons of these? The bloke doing the work is one of the best over here.He works mainly on Imprezzas and Evos, building anything that you want.Has a Nissan Sylvia(think) running 700 brake. He has said that if it were him,he wouldn't put stock turbos back on.I'll tell him tomorrow of all your advice, see what he thinks.Anybody out there need a kidney or a lung?Do a good deal, keen rates.Wonder if the wife will put her stockings and high heels on and take a walk around the docks?I do feel better though knowing that help is out there and good help at that. Thanks again to all who nave replied.I'm just in a quandry as to how to proceed for the best and not leave myself destitute.Where's that flamin' lottery ticket?
13. Thankyou, thankyou mates for your replys.Your rallying has picked me up,truly. Now i,m stuck as to what to do.Do i go single?Ive read a little on this but not that much as to be well informed.I do know there are two camps. At the moment i am still in the twin camp. When i said cheapest,i don't mean making do.After buying the car the coffers are lean;but it does all depend on the final cost. The bloke that looked at my car also said he was concerned that the brand new GReddy intercooler is OK.Fingers crossed.I havn't abused the motor in any way.The weather here has been pretty bad,wet ,cold frost,so have been going easy.Maximum boost was 1.1,then only for a short burst, mostly only 0.5 bar or so.If i bought Uk turbos, would this mean changing the manifold, injectors, mapping? Then again single has an appeal.I'm stumped.Have a good think. And thanks to all of your very welcome answers and offers i have something positive to think about. Many thanks to you again Supra community.Down but not out!
14. Re my recent post about No 2 not boosting. Bloke stripped her down at weekend - No 2 impellar shattered (also me), No 1 slightly damaged. He is going to enquire about replacements for me. This is going to be considerable outlay - anyone able to help with contacts etc for cheapest option. Had only done about 800 miles since buying the car. Feel sick.
15. Thanks Ian.Have sealed the hose, but to no avail;still no boost, although i think it is a wee bit better, but not as it should be.That's a great link.Good photos of the trouble spots.I have looked and looked;but i will look again(live on a main road,no driveway)There is a really good bloke here,Michael White, works on japanese cars;races a Nissan Sylvia(think, with about 700 brake)does all the work himself, has had a quick look at it,nothing obvious,so will get it into his garage next week for really good look.He said he will test everything he can to find the cause;that link will be very handy ,as well as your advice.Much appreciated, thankyou. Will let you know how it goes.
16. Hope these pics work Ian, never done this before. Have a look see (maybe you John also).
17. Hello John.I learned that it was time for a Supra:)I would post a pic,but i do not know how to do this. Can you help Ian?
18. Many thanks. It took me 4 years to learn the c20let engine (sort of)in the Calibra, now i have to start all over again!
19. I know this nas been posted before but i am knew to Supras, therefore, stupid. All was well one day, literally, the next no boost in the second turbo:reaching about 0.4-0.5 onlly(if that)Has a GReddy controller wasn't making vacuum(no minus boost showing)Found a piece of pipe t'd in to the vac. line, blocked it off, vacuum again but no boost. This pipe had to have been connected somewhere or blocked off as vacuum was made before(top right of engine near the inlet and injectors, towards the rear)A boost gauge may have been fitted here, don't know.Have been over the connections 'tll i'm boggle eyed;cannot find anything loose or disconnected.Truthfully i don't know what i am looking for except help.Is my ship sinking already,do i need a lifeboat?
20. No;the car came with the budgets on the rear. Are the Goodyears that good?
21. There is a pair of budget 265-35-18 tyres (new) on the rear of my TT.Not fussed on them.Any advice on what to replace them with(can i go wider)?Fronts are Goodyear Eagles
22. Thanks mates. The reason i ask, is that there is a company in the US that does a set of discs(f/r) for $210-00.Vented,grooved and drilled for the US spec TT,so if they are the same and the p/p isn't a killer(will find out)why not?
23. Just to put my head straight in my head. What are the brake disc sizes, front and rear for UK and j-spec TT's?Also are US discs the same as UK ones?
24. How about the good old t-shirt?Being an artist i could knock up a couple of ideas.Keep the colours simple to keep cost down.Worth a go?
25. gaijin
