Finally admitted the car has to go... insurance renewal is ridiculous and the price of petrol is ridiculous! Got car in 1995 from Vine Place in Northumberland, and was first UK owner (apart from the garage having to register in their name when it came in). Cost me £11,000 with 40,000miles (64,000km), 3 year warranty, Cat 1 alarm, 1 year MOT, and new cam belt. Speedo was converted to miles at that point. Car has now done approx 100,000 miles as I used to do a lot of motorway travelling, and it therefore has all the expected stone chips. This is my only car, so it is used for everything from shopping trips to camping in Wales and (crossed fingers, touch wood) it has never let me down. It has a couple of key scratches down the offside that cannot be T-cut out, but I'm sure these would go easily enough from one of the commercial scratch remover companies. It also has a small dent in the lift-up part of the boot where a flat back reversed into me in a car park. Inside is very clean, and the car is well looked after. Servicing has been done by TDI North and Whifbitz. I have most of the receipts for this (rest got buried in my loft somewhere after moving from Lancashire, along with the FSH from Japan), but I am sure TDI would confirm that they used to service my car, and I have most, if not all, of the Whifbitz service paperwork and I am sure Paul would answer technical questions about the car as I don't have a clue! Had another new cam belt this year. Car had two new front tyres put on last month (I think) and will be MOT'd in the next couple of weeks. It is meant to be coming to JAE with me, but if someone wants it before then I will let it go earlier. Having checked Piston Heads and talking with a couple of dealers I am putting it up for £5,500ono (it was insured for £8,000 guaranteed valuation for the last insurance year). SPROG WILL BE GUTTED WHEN SHE FINDS OUT!!!

Thinking of selling mine... has a couple of scratches down drivers side where it's been keyed, few stone chips and a small dent in the lift-up bit of the boot. Will be at JAE if you're going. Not sure what it's worth; getting conflicting answers at the moment!

How do I buy a ticket just for Sprog? Surely can't be £22.50 just for her!?! Can I buy ticket on gate if I can go? Not sure I'll be able to due to yet another operation... might be able to put it off til after JAE tho but don't find out til 26th August!

I am having operation #3 early September so not sure if I can go yet, may have to just go for the day and buy ticket on gate... Sprog may ask Dave West or Inazone if she can go with them if I am unasble to go.

Sprog's buying a laptop... is she better off waiting til after xmas for the sales, or are the pre-xmas offers as good as it's going to get? Just wondering if anyone bought one last year before xmas then found it cheaper afterwards!

Sure I've seen a thread on this before, but searched all manner of things and not come up with anything. Sold my mobile on e-bay; buyer has paid immediately with PayPal but has zero feedback (first time buyer). PayPal say 'eligible' under Seller Protection, and address is Confirmed. Sure someone said before that there was a scam where PayPal funds received, mobile posted, then PayPal refuse to pay. Can't post it until tomorrow so have a little time to work this out. What do you think?

Have done a search so not duplicating, despite the recent threads! Got £500 for my birthday to put towards digital SLR. Want to buy just the basic camera and lense, and buy bigger lenses later on, so thinking of the Canon EOS500D. Can get one for £500.99 on most websites. Few things I'm wondering: 1. Anyone got one? How have you got on with it? I did have the EOS300 and EOS500 film cameras with lenses and they were great. 2. Did anyone buy a camera before/after xmas last year? Are the prices going to go down after xmas, or are the pre-xmas deals going to be better? 3. Can I use my lenses from the film SLR on a digital? Seems to be some dispute over this when I've asked other people.
