Sprog and I need a cheap way of heating our (average sized)living room. We have a storage hot-air heating system but this is about 30 years old and absolutely enormous, been told by neighbours it costs about £70-£80 a month to run... and it doesn't even heat all the rooms! Looking at buying a portable heater that will heat up living room quickly without costing a fortune. We're only at home in the evenings so probably only be on 3 or 4 hours a night. Been given a load of Argos vouchers so looking to buy heater from there, thing is I can't work out which is most efficient. Choices are (Argos pages 562-572):- 1) oil filled radiator (with variable thermostat and ECC) 2) oil-free heater (with variable thermostat and ECC) 3) panel heater 4) convector heater (with variable thermostat and ECC) 5) fan heater They all claim to be efficient - doing my head in now, ain't got a clue, and it's getting a bit nippy in the evenings! Suggestions (polite ones) please!

How big's the property honey (ie potential occupancy)? Sprog and I can't manage with a built-in fridge and we're on our own! If it's bigger than a one-bed flat then buy the big fridge!

Yep, I agree with Ewen... baths are simply sitting in your own sewage - relaxing, true, but you've gotta have a shower after to be clean... especially if you're sharing the bath and sitting in someone elses sewage too!

Whatever you use, cross your fingers he doesn't know about proxy servers. Last High School I taught in had all sorts of web security, but every day some little git found a proxy server we hadn't heard of and used that to access all sorts of naughties!

Trying to find tyres and can only find cheap/nasty ones. Any ideas? Looking for two 245/50/R16... currently have Bridgestone Potenzas on there, but can't even find them! Alternative could be to fit different sized tyres, but I don't know what would fit on... have standard Toytota 16" J-spec rims (eg, would 255/50/R16 fit?). MOT in 3 or 4 weeks, and my tyres ain't gonna pass!

Stu, is our road flooded ? My sister says the garage was fine this morning... could be coz she's too lazy to empty it of course coz it's my stuff in there not hers! Garage is a bit higher up than you are (opposite where my car was parked). I ain't coming back til it's Sup-safe lol.

Moving to Dunstable now, not Hitchin. All my junk goes into storage on Monday, then I'm off to Cheltenham for the summer to stay with my sister (yes, that sister)... move to Dunstable at the end of August. Anyone live around there? More importantly, any meets around there? And does it come under 'East' or 'Midlands' in events, seems to be a bit border-ish!
