anyone got any spare, I guess I could take one to a local hardware shop - seems a bit of a small order to run through Mr T

It struck my earlier on the way home, whilst following yet another smokey diesel, that I've seen several just lately. Just wondering, with the increase in the cost of fuel, could that be a sign people are running red diesel - does it create smoke? Could all be coincidence, but it got me wondering.

SAP - blergh, my condolences - sounds like you're moving in the right direction publishing and production is definitely one of the Mac strong points the only thing that really bugs me about mac is you need propriety mac hardware to run it, whereas everything else (linux, windows, unix) can be run on a regular (and cost effective PC). If you want a good hardcore real-time OS, QNX is good - but you won't get much work done on that lol

there's simply no answer for this - really depends what you're doing and your knowledge (and patience sometimes!) In terms of absolute server scalability, performance and robustness for me it's got to be: Unix (e.g. Solaris / OpenSolaris) Linux (e.g. Centos) Windows / Mac and VMS would score high if it was still around in anger! whereas from a usability / desktop user point of view it's more like Mac Windows Linux Unix but, things like OpenSolaris as rapidly catching the mainstream Linux in terms of usability now, but with much more power / scalability to boot. I booted and installed of the latest OpenSolaris 200805 live cd and got everything installed pretty much like I was installing Windows or one of the better linux distro's It's not going to compete with Windows when it comes to drivers and sound/multimedia support - then again little does, that's one thing M$ really got right amongst a bunch of things they didn't! PS: If you can't decide what to use/learn - then get a half decent machine, install a flavour of Linux as host and VMWare server 2 and then download and install a bunch of different OSes and try them - at the end of the day it's free and if you don't get on, you've lost nothing and can just delete it. This works for everything except MAC (propriety system which is its strength but also its downside) - works with Windows you just need to pay for the appropriate licenses - everything else is free leaving more money to spend on the supra - woot!

great, if anyone has got some spare that would be really good. Studs? Are they? You mean the stud is screwed into the spoiler and you push them through the bodywork and screw a nut on the end? I guess I don't mind really, whatever works - studs or bolts so long as they fit ok and I think have a captive washer / nut with a large washer on it.

the rear spoiler onto the boot? Just changed my Veilside back to standard this morning but one of the bolts snapped off so I've just got 3 holding it on at the moment. just wondering if anyone had 1 or 2 spare they'd pop in the post to me? I'd pay postage etc If not I'll try and get from Mr T. - just seems like a bit of a small order to put through lol

Been looking at the latest htc phones, the htc touch pro looks quite nice, it's not out until the end of August though...

excellent, thanks guys! hopefully the rear of the car will be less "marmite" once it's done, might even have a go tomorrow morning if I get a chance. I like easy jobs that make a big difference
-
woot! that's exactly what I was hoping to hear, thanks. I expect it can be done in a couple of hours then. I'll take the opportunity to polish up the bits that are hard to reach on the boot before fitting the new one. I take it that you get to the screws by taking the trim off inside the boot lid?

Woah! It's a giant carry handle!

Hi, Currently I've got a Veilside Spoiler on the car, just got a standard spoiler and was going to swap it over for a change. Just wondering about fitments. The standard spoiler hasn't come with any screws / gaskets etc... Now, I'm hoping (praying) that holes are in the same place!!! They certainly "seem" to locate on the boot in similar places. Will the bolts / screws be the same and I can reuse them once the veilside is off the car? Looks like 2 bolts per side from what I can see. I should get new gaskets from Mr T (presume there are gaskets) and possibly the bolts too if they are different sizes/lengths? Just want to get everything ready so in theory I can do it all in one go

hmmm, well that's what I've got atm, although it needs a little work hence thinking of taking the chance to change it. Thanks anyway, I might get back to you, depends what turns up really...

Hi, I'd be interested in a used Toyota Black (standard paint code 202) rear spoiler - style, well I'd consider any but standard might be the best type for me... It must be good enough either not to need any paintwork (don't mind polishing it up) or not need paint at all (i.e. a cf or metal type). cheers!

Thank you very much to both of you. Great job.

Well if you think of the name of them, please let me know.

A friend has asked me to identify these alloys. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

when I saw that at the cinema late at night it was really frigging effective with the amazing immersive surround sound etc. The story is a bit weak so not sure it would work without full impact of effects at home. I enjoyed it though, a film to get adrenaline going, not to follow a story. There's a new film The Happening, which looks good, anyone seen that yet - got the impression it was similar but it probably isn't.

no, I can get to the hdd because booting off of cd shows the contents of C:\ - it's that some of the files and folders are zero bytes - it's been corrupted I guess when it last shbut down

Hi, my laptop has got messed up. was working fine, rebooted it and now won't boot at all. it fails right at the start (i.e. before any windows loading starts). going in via the windows xp disk and recovery console I've run a chkdsk which completed ok but the machine still won't boot. strange this is when i view the files and folders on the disk via the recovery console, some of the folders and files report as 0 bytes even though I know they were not empty. all the files and folders are listed though but somethings messed up for them to be reported as 0 bytes in size. The OS is XP pro and I think it's the normal NTFS5 file system IIRC. Is there an easy / safe way to recover the drive. I suspect most of the data is on there but I need to restore the file system and I'm scared I'll make it worse or unrecoverable if I make the wrong move. naturally reinstalling is a last resort - I'd really like to recover the disk is fixmbr the way to go, is it actually the mbr that's wrong? I don't want to try that unless that's the right thing to do, I hear using fixmbr can result in data loss.

God - the God delusion is a good book and delusion is an appropriate word. Many people delude themselves over many different things, but God is a common denominator. I guess each to their own as long as it causes no harm. I can understand why some people are more agnostic than atheist but the logical part of me provides some bias back towards atheist. It's interesting that affluent societies tend to be more atheist / agnostic whereas poorer and sometimes less educated societies tend to be more religious. I know that's a sweeping generalisation alert and I certainly don't mean that with any disrespect or to be condescending - as I say - each to their own as long as it doesn't hurt or affect others in a negative way

well here is the first and most fundamental problem
-
lol nice one - thought it was a long shot on here but sometimes you get a suprise

I can't be bothered to type it out unless someone might be able to help lol are you familiar with web services and the wcf web service model at all?
-
if so I'll explain the problem
