  1. Ph Double Ds ? (shamelessly ripped from a film)
  2. Hell hath no fury than a F1 driver scorned etc. Sounds like hes had a fit of Pique and dobbed them in.
  3. Theres watch repairers, then theres watch repairers. Ring round a few first. I'd recommend someone like Goldsmiths. http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/repairsservice.asp?a=null&coid=12 If your watch is say, a dress watch with a domed crystal, it may be possible to polish the crystal in situ. If the watch has a bezel, the crystal should be taken out first.
  4. It does / is indeed. Its the mini vhs tapes that are the buggers causing the issue if you catch my drift. I appreciate your input though.
  5. I'm sorted if I can get it into the PC (well, Mac actually). The problem is that I have no way of playing back these mini vhs tapes in the first place. I could buy an old vhs recorder and an adapting tape (the mini vhs tape goes into the adapter, then into the recorder), and then play it back, hopefully connecting it to the computer either direct or via my mini DV camera.
  6. Yup they still do, just found the info on line. Expensive though...I probably have around thirty hours worth....thats around £300. I'm also looking at how I can do it at home if I can find a way of playing the tapes etc.

I hereby repost myself.... An RSPCA centre in Cornwall gets a call about a fox caught in a trap. The manager asks the caller exactly where the fox is, and is told its in a wood three miles over the Devon border. The manager tells the caller that it only deals with animals from Cornwall, so its therefore a Devon RSPCA matter. The caller tells him that he knows for definite that the fox is from Cornwall. How so ? asks the manager...due to the fact that the fox has chewed three of its legs off and is still trapped, replies the caller.
  8. They always seemed a bit manky to me. Although they did a stand up job with a particular piece of incidental music in Snatch, the rest of it never got any air time here. I bought an Oasis album for 50p at a car boot sale once, but only because it was in a box full of other tat. The brass letter box that accompanied it makes a much more satisfying noise.
  9. The driver had a great hair style as well though.
  10. Depends on the watch and what the crystals made of Imi ? A good watch repair shop will get a fairly light to medium scratch out, but some watches have an anti-glare treatment on the glass...you may get rid of the scratch, at the expense of losing this.
  11. My post should make more sense now.
  12. I'd love another TT Aerotop, the auto box is great, and I can live with the scuttle shake. Not many around now and they are getting on in age now, but there are still enough around to give you a choice....so it will pay you to take your time and look at several if you are prepared to travel. If age is an issue to you, TT Aerotops stopped being made around 1995, non turbo Aerotops stopped being made around 1998. Have a good look at the roof seals and locking bolts on any car you view...its common for an owner to lose the original locking ratchet tool for the roof, but this isnt the end of the world as an allen key can be used...just check that the locking bolts actually work. The roof can sometimes leak even if the seals look in good nick...in my experience this can be down to blocked drainage channels, again, not the end of the world and can be fixed. The seals can be replaced at the end of the day. If the rest of the car is fine, it may not be a deal breaker.
  13. Fit alloy ones onto steel valves. They will never get them off.
  14. Er, its not carbon. This forums going down between the door shuts.

Holy Island (Lindisfarne) was the same when I lived there in the '60s. Couldnt move for tourists. The shop ran out of milk and bread before the locals could get to the counter ffs. Really annoying among a community where fishing was the main source of income. I've been back recently, as a grockle rather than local, and due to the decline in fishing the remaining fishermen (those who havent been caught by Gods great fishing net) are now running the various information centres or driving the tour busses. Ironic or what. The Isle of Wight is similar, but they actively encourage it in an attempt to introduce genetic variation into the blood line. My wife always wondered why local virgins were chained spread-eagled to the pool tables at campsites.
  16. Usually, when Britain is depicted on its own on a map, Newport is directly south of Dundee. But when Britain is shown on a map with parts of Europe, Edinburgh is directly north of Newport. Ive even seen a map where Inverness has moved so far east that it is directly north of Newport.

    Swine Flu...

There are plenty of other levels, not just the lowest one. You should try them sometime. (snigger)
  18. :(Depends on which end of the country you are.
  19. How is she going to 'include his wine collection in the boot'.
