  1. I can only imagine what a hassle that was...great fun though.
  2. No, hes not got the best singing talent out there. That said, he sings better than most of them that appear on these shows. For me, X-Factor was just a vehicle through which I became aware of a life affirming fragment of humanity. His story begins with an abomination against a minority, yet has already reached a chapter full of love and belonging. The message he hit us with was sugary sweet thanks to the context and editing, but what got me going was how chance gave the lad and his brother a Golden Ticket to another world. His adoptive mother and the organisation she is a small part of are the real stars....again, thanks for posting.
  3. Incredibly moving. I'm glad I saw this, thanks for posting it.

    Boom!

How about a sentence that ends in moob ?
  6. There I was, just about to offer advice with mother in law problems, but you are on about scaly lizards with forked tongues. Come to think of it so am I.
  7. Well, apart from the Scirocco, I'm stumped. It would have to be a troll through the internet for me.

    Wheres Wall-E

Just spotted Robert from Fireball XL5, and the one from Forbidden Planet. He / it re-appeared in Columbo wearing a skirt.

    Wheres Wall-E

    Wheres Wall-E

http://www.hopewellstudios.com/images/stories/geekings/whereswalle1450.jpg This is a great montage, not so much to find Wall-E, but for spotting robots from your childhood etc.
  12. A shocking story, quite well told. The last segment was incredibly hard to watch, almost surreal in its focussed intensity being played out to thousands of onlookers whilst Purley lived through his personal hell alone.
  13. This is all very interesting, but it falls somewhat short in explaining the existence of Ben Stiller.
  14. Clip of some nice leather clad buns
  15. How much are they going for these days ? Theres a new Breitling out that I'm willing to sell mine for.
  16. I've dug up a few coins and an old AJS motorcycle engine. I used to be a into rocks and minerals, found a few nice examples. Still very interested in fossils, and again I've found quite a few decent ones. My most exciting find is an 18 inch diameter ammonite I found on the Isle of Wight.
  17. This was what was on the clock on mine when it came over in '03. 4500 miles.
  18. Brings those days right back to me. Except for the lack of sleeping bags, various bodies lying around and the extremely clean floor.
  19. God I remember Buckie. 15% alcohol, 40% caffeine, cheap, bonker juice. Parties weren't parties without Buckie. These days you drink Red Bull to keep going and red wine to go to sleep...back in the old days Buckie did both jobs at the same time. To hell with its nose and cheeky hint of Nescafe, I have vague recollections of naked nubile zombies and soaking wet sleeping bags.
  20. My late father was, and the wife and I regularly received 'special' bottles from him, via whatever club he was a member of. They always came with a note saying 'this one is special...at least read the label before quaffing' or words to that effect. Back in the early 80's, he had bought us a box of twelve 'special' wines as a wedding present. He visited us not that long after, and in the evening asked if we would mind opening one of these 'special' bottles he had given us. He was rather upset when Jane informed him that all twelve bottles had been necked pretty much within a week of us receiving them. Apparently he had gone to an enormous amount of trouble and research in choosing each individual wine, and had intended them to be used for birthdays, anniversaries etc. He was even less impressed when he asked us what we thought of each wine only to be informed, with the best level of fine wine critique we could come up with, that 'we loved the red, but we gave the white to our sister'. As was his way, he did his best to educate, encourage and inspire in all things vin, but to this day we stay with what we know....if its less than a tenner and doesn't have the ability to eat its way through three decks of Nostromo, we will probably buy it again.
  21. It publishes a 'liked a link' on your Facebook wall, including the first post text, that when clicked takes you to the thread in question.
