Mr Hornet, we must arrange a meet in Hull as there is a number of Supra Owners, myself and Jim_Supra have met up along with some of the guys from the North and we had a blast. Could have a little convoy to Bridlington to scare some Chavs!

Thankyou very much for your help.

Hello I would have to say anything by BT especially the theme to Fast and Furious! Trance music is great for driving!

Hi all, once again I come before you! What is the thread type for the N/A Supra Oil filter? I have been quoted as it being thread type: 3/4 16 UNF66. Does anyone know this is true, I am looking at a Greddy Oil filter sandwhich plate to take off pressure and temp senders. I would of liked the one from Miami GT, but I do not want to relocate the filter as the N/A Supra is easy to get at! Thanks for reading

Have you got larger wheels on the car, with low profile tyres? Check your tyres for wear as they begin to "feel" the road more when they are worn. You must also consider the surfaces you are driving on, the Supra is not the plushest of rides. Check that all the wheels are seated properly and the nuts have been tightened, it is recommended to check them after having the wheels fitted on and off, as most places use an air ratchet to place them on, these can lack the torque required. Hope this may be of help!

Hello fellow Supra owner, you must get some of the get togethers as they are fabulous. On the 12th of June there is a big meet in the Lake District, how about getting yourself over for that! Check out the thread in the calendar and add your name to the long list!

Hello can anyone tell me which plugs I should go for in my supra, I do relatively fast driving and not much town use. I presume I could walk into Halfords and get them that are listed for the LEXUS GS300? Any advice, would again be appreciated - to return the favour please ask me any science questions!
-
Cheers mate! Will have a go.

Glad to see you coming along for the ride! Just make sure you keep your eyes on the road and not on the birds See you soon, Matt, Jim and I could meet you somewhere in the morning prior to going to Penrith?
-
Cheers for that, I actually want them off to spray, same colour as the car. Which way did you pull them off? Thanks

Hi does anyone know how to get the rear number plate surrounds off the supra, there is a large screw at the top that can easily be removed, but the whole thing will not come off. Anyone know how it can be done?

Hi I have a N/A Supra J-Spec, with 47,000miles. What should the idle speed be for this car? When I got it it would idle at approimately 1000rpm, now I have fitted a new filter it idles at 700rpm, sometimes it idles at 900 then comes down slowly to 700rpm - is this normal??

I am a teacher in an inner city school, which is like chav central, the only language the understand is fighting. In my day, you were cool if you had the latest Star-wars toy or such like, now its how many kickings you have had or dished out! I was disciplined with a cane at school, now we can not do anything, I have lads offering me out (laughable that it is) and they know that I can not do diddly to them. I tell my pupils that I am really dissapointed in them and that they must consider that they are the future of this country and how I am concerned for thier welfare. Until the government get off thier backsides, give the tossers in brussels the "heavo-ho" and we get back to coporal punishment, we are in trouble.

Anyone fitted a induction kit to a J-Spec N/A

Pants! why do people always recommend having an induction kit, the one I have got my hands on is an Ingen technology which has a heat shield. What other mods can I do with reasonable amount of money to improve my performance? There was a sensor in the stock airbox, am I right in thinking this is the MAF sensor, if it is what does it do? -
Why is everyone ditching thier after market filter systems, in favour of the stock air box?????

Was the sensor a long thin one made by Denso? Been out in the car and it runs fine. Still confused -

Thanks for the swift reply, bit unsure of the fuel management system, the only sensor I moved out was on the right hand side of the engine bay as you look at the car, it was pushed in the plastic intake (stock) about half way in, presumed it was a temp sensor to measure the air??? Would that be specific to turbo Supras? Mine is a N/A. Your advice would be appreciated.... -
Hi I want to fit an induction kit to my 93 J-spec N/a. What sort of problems will I encounter? I am looking at an Injen, but the instructions and diagram show that there is an air mass meter to be fitted within the pipework, where is the Supra's and what happens if I do not have this item within the pipework, from what I can see there is some meters on the throttle body.... Your help is appreciated.

Hi the average fuel economy you will get out of the 13B engine (654cc x 2 rotors) is approximately 17mpg. Although they are lighter cars and have a smaller engine you must not consider the rotary engine as the same as a reciprocating engine. They have no valves, therefore the ports are constantly open and this is why they are a little heavy on fuel. The engine uses a little oil (approx 0.5L per 1000 miles) as the oil is used in the engine, both as a lubricant and cooling - a little blue smoke when warm is expected, not plumes of it indicating a worn turbo. You must also consider that the 13B engine is virtually identical to the earlier 12A engine (apart from larger rotors and housings) the 12A pushed out 110bhp, the 13B twin entry turbo is 250+bhp - thats a lot more, the fact that the rebuild has been done should not be used as evidence that the engine is ok, run a compression test, the difference between the front a rear rotor housings should be within 5% of each other +/-. The engines are noisy, but not excessively. As for handling, round bends the 7 will wup a supra no problems, but the 7 produces its power above 4000rpm so the Supra will begin to gain on mid-range grunt. Top speed in stock form will be very similar, the Supra slightly faster. Bear in mind that the great 7 tuners, Racing beat hold the record of the RX7 FD top speed of somewhere around 230+mph. Parts for the 7 FD are cheap on ebay in the states! Most people who are serious about tuning the 7, go single! Hope this helps a little in your quest, odd really I have gone from a 7 to a Supra and love the comfort of the "big gal".

Hi guys, just been reading the thread and replies, just a thought for you: I have done many callipers in my time and I hate paying through the nose, so I found this tip, from a Honda Prelude Owners club forum, Use a basic grey zinc primer (zinc is a sacrificial metal and will stop the calliper rusting), prep first with a wire brush, various grades of wet and dry and as people use, some brake cleaner to remove any dust. Next, paint a nice smooth coat of the primer and allow to dry, here is the best bit: Get a tin of Humbrol Enamel paint and use that as the overcoat! One small tinlet, shoud do all the callipers. Ok prep and painting takes a little longer but the results are excellent for a net outlay of a £5 (not taking into account brushes). What better way of spending quality time with your pride and joy on a warm afternoon!

The fish n chips were good, but some bastard seagulls thought my white supra was another seagull and had a big shit on it. Promptly chased the seagull off. Perhaps I should stop using warm car bonnets as a way of keeping me food warm! The coast would be a good meet as well on a nice hot summers day, perfect for you, there is some cracking roads for you to drive over...

I will be there! Just got back from a nice ride up to Scarborough! See you soon.....
