  1. I done it on my last one and i really want to do it on my new one but i'm wondering if i have the patience!!! I will one day... I used the acetone and sanding method, took me about a week to remove the coating.
  2. Assuming these will fit my 94 j-spec i'll have them if hoff doesn't.
  3. Got me!!! Was expecting something a little different
  4. I would have thought it was something like the motherboard broken then as you said. I would also agree that 16 months is not old or worn for a laptop, but paying for the repairs on one is un-economical. Would probably cost pennies more for a new laptop!
  5. Well done, looks nice.
  6. Yea it should be in there somewhere, i can't remember the layout of Toshiba bios so i don't want to tell you something wrong but there should be a 'Restore Factory Settings' bit in there somewhere and you'll have to save it on exit. Or it may say 'Restore Default Settings' Something along those lines anyway. It won't harm anything by doing it so don't worry about that. Just go into the setup and have a look around you'll know the interface when you see it, it's usually blue with white writing, very basic looking.
  7. Sounds like something wrong with the Motherboard, try resetting the bios back to factory settings see if this helps (if you know how to access it that is) if not it could just be on it's way out. Hopefully not for your sake though.
  8. UPDATE After doing the test the compressor no longer kick in or anything... Re-gas i think with dye, maybe a leak somewhere.
  9. I don't really know anyone local to me who really knows their stuff i used to travel to Basingstoke in my old Supe to get it done but i've heard bad things about that particular garage now. I have some good friends that keep it maintained for me but if it's something they don't know they won't try to prevent doing something wrong. I'll get one of them to have a look. Can't make AFR on the 14th due to work All the good things seem to happen when i'm stuck here!
  10. I did originally think this because the brakes were changed just before i bought it and it's always done it in the 2 months i've had it. I don't really know how to change brakes or anything but will a garage know weather it's that or not. Is it obvious to see?
  11. Thanks for the suggestion but i already tried this when i realized it wasn't working. There's so many wires and connectors behind there i did give as many as i could a good push and wiggle
  12. Hello everyone, My air con was working fine until i removed the dash to change the dials then i get all the right things/noises happening but no cold air. I have put this in another thread but since then i have just learned how to do a heater diagnostic test and the light above the fresh air button flashes which according to the list is the pressure switch circuit. Firstly could i have caused this but disconnecting the battery and removing the dash and secondly does anybody know what i can do to check/fix this. Thanks, Ben
  13. Sorry for the delay Nic i just got back off holiday, hopefully you'll see this... The symptoms are a rattling noise like metal on metal but only on really rough bits of road, if i push the brakes the noise doesn't happen. Handling isn't affected at all. I have jacked the car up and given the links a good pulling about but they don't move in the slightest neither does the bar. It only seems to be coming from the drivers side front wheel too.
  14. I can see: 42" LCD TV playing Kerrang through the cinema system which i can also see. Coffee table, plant, mobile, fireplace, Wii, random ornaments, 6ft fish tank with tropical's in, 5 ft vivarium with albino boa, recliner sofas, wii fit balance board, some shoes, some dvd's, my decks, air con unit... Loads more but that's the major stuff. Working from home rocks!!!!
  15. I have a set of these on mine already with the Supra logo etched on, i also have the temp and fan speed dial in the same and my speedo's to match. I can post up a pic if anyone wants to see them fitted for a guide of how they look
  16. Have a good time mate, it's wicked there i've been 4 times over the past 8 years. If you venture into Old Town try out the Skycoaster it's mental!!!! Have fun!
  17. Just a thought, is there any way i can check these before changing them? I've come to my own conclusion that it must be these making the noise by reading things on here but if there is a way to be certain before getting new ones i would check it first. SO any procedure i can follow for a little check?
  18. Anyone recognise this popular scene from a Disney film... Taxes! Taxes oh beautiful Taxes! Reminds me of something....
  19. I gave up for 3 years untill march this year when everything went to s**t now i'm back on I will stop again though but as mentioned above the hardest thing was going to the pub although with the ban it did become a bit easier. Just stick with it i found that as i started to feel better in myself it got a lot easier, that's what i would probably focus on to help me stop this time. It's a strange but excellent feeling getting your health back Good luck mate!
  20. Yeah i see how easy it would be by looking at the diagram, i just needed to know where they were located plus i just like to be extra carefule when going into un-charted territory . Do you know if i have to change both front and back at the same time because it seems to be just the fronts that are faulty.
  21. Thanks mate, i have tools like that so i'll give it a go i think. I'll have a look through the online manuals for their whereabouts!
  22. Hi, I was wondering how hard it is to change the anti roll bar drop links? I like to have a go at things myself and mine need doing. I can't seem to find a guide or anything for doing them and i only have a standard tool kit so if any specialist tolls are needed i'll have to pass the job on. Has anyone done there own on here and if so could i have a short write up on the procedure? My level of experience goes as far as servicing, plugs, fan belt, all fluids and filters. If the job is way beyond that then i'll get it into a garage. Thanks Ben
  23. Right after a little bit more investigation it appears that the hissing is coming from behind this cover i've circled on the diagram (obviously the other way around this is from an American car) I've had a look in the little preview window on the gas top up pipe and there seems to be fluid of some sort whirling around in there but no bubbles or anything. The compressor engages but does not disengage periodocially as it usually would and iirc the hissing noise always happens when you turn the air con on but goes away when the compressor clutch disengages. The air in the car does not get any cooler weather it is on or off. When i bought this car it had just had the air con re-done and he had the receipt to prove this. I seem to remember that when i went to have it done myself on previous cars the machine checked for leaks before re-gassing is this right? I have no problem getting it done again but i don't want to waste my time and money. It was absolutely perfect before i disconnected the battery now this is what i get, is there some way that having the battery off has caused the system to discharge or something? I really don't know too much about it but i know what it's supposed to do. The fact that the compressor never kicks in and out seems very strange to me. Any ideas after that bit of input?
  24. I thought it was tested for leaks and such when it's re-gassed... It just seems funny that this has happened instantly after i had all the electrics off and dash out when it was running perfectly. I did think snake though seeing as my bro breeds them! lol
