Did anyone catch the Secret Policemans ball this year? Well i saw it and there was one bloke (Tim Minchin) who i'd never heard of before but after seeing his performance i had to see him live so i booked tickets to see him Saturday in Maidenhead. Wondering if anyone had seen any of his other stuff and if it's any good. After talking to some people it looks like the brake sliders have gone in one caliper and apparently you can get a maintenance kit to repair this. Question time again.... Does anyone know the part numbers or anywhere i can get this quite quickly in the uk or am i gonna have to go down the import from Japan route? I've got j-spec breaks obviously. Thanks guys.

If it's only been blocked on your desktop and not from the server you could always try turning it back on using gpedit.msc Still check that you won't get into trouble

Well i assume that's why they're not there and i wouldn't have thought that little metal clip would make much difference, i have one in either side anyway. It does worry me though the amount of movement in the caliper when it's all in place exactly like the other one. Not too sure if this would make the rattle though, i'm even more confused now than before i started messing around with it! It's just funny that i get no rattle if i put the brakes on even lightly...

I just use a 2T jack and some axle stands. Bought them yesterday, the jack's a bit rubbish but it gets the car high enough to get the stands under it then it's all ok

All the green arrow parts are there, only one of the red arrow parts is present on each caliper and there are none of the parts labeled 47745 & 47744.

That never occoured to me... Now i wish i hadn't!!!!

UPDATE: I just had both wheels off for a comparison because i only get a rattle from one side. What i found was that on the drivers side the part of the caliper you can lift to change the pads seemed to wobble alot if i grab hold of it and move it side to side but the passenger side one seems much more sturdy. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

Nah i binned it, didn't seem like a worthwhile keepsake, if i come to sell the supe on then i don't want whoever get's it from me to think that's how i looked after it!

I thought the same but if they put in the wrong make of car or something this is what happens. Probably put it in as a Celica or something knowing them.

I know there's loads of posts about the quality of work (or lack of) at kwik fit and i've never trusted them but the bloke who had my car before me did... When i bought it he said the air con had just been re-gassed there and had all the proof, i knew this would lead to problems somewhere and i've just found out where. They have over gassed and burst 3 seals and damaged the dryer. I've just found an air con specialist in Chertsy and he really knows his stuff and for what he's doing i think his prices are reasonable too. So if anyone around this way is looking for an air con specialist i got details of a good one. Don't use Kwik-Fit !!!!!

Hi, In an attempt to diagnose the rattling noise from the front of my car i've taken the brake caliper apart to see if it's the pads rattling in them. Now i've done this i'm still none the wiser! I've put a picture in can anyone tell me if something is missing that would cause a rattle? When i was looking at how to remove the calipers i noticed a metal thing that sits behind the pad and this appears to be absent... Maybe the cause? I've also heard it could be the drop links so i've put a pic of that in too so if anyone knows they can tell me if that might be the cause. There doesn't seem to be any play in the link at all.
