I know this is going to be nearly impossible to resolve online but just wondered if anyone on here has had a similar problem. The other day i was driving along minding my own business when ....... BANG, uncovered manhole in the road caught my back wheel. I didn't notice anything wrong immediatley, still drove alright, no wobbling at higher speeds nothing. The next day me & the missus went out and when i hit a bump in the road it sounded like the car bottomed out on the same wheel i had hit the day previous. Pulled over had a look couldn't see anything obvious so carried on, hit another patch of bumpy road and i can her the bang again. I took the car round to my mates and put it up on his ramp and we had the wheel off and had a good look around the underside of the wheel. Everything seems to be in place nothing looks like it has slipped off or broken or bent, put the wheel back on but i still get the same problem. I think it is slowly getting worse too or i am being my usual paranoid self. Too sum it up, it is as if the spring has lost it's elasticity or something and is allowing the car to bottom out. The noise itself sounds like a dead bang, metal against metal, deep sort of noise.
I'm open to sugestions peeps, i can't think of anything else.
Thanks for reading.
Ben.
