That doesnt sound good, is this something i can check (bearing in mind my mechanical knowledge only stretches to oil changing), is it just a case of taking the plastic bit with Toyota written on it off and checking the tension. If so how much movement is to be expected, and is it ok to start the car up to check with that cover off?

That was my first thought but i checked for that, you can actually feel it if you put your hand on top of the engine. And it speeds up if you rev it up a bit untill it's drouned out by engine noise.

I haven't checked it, but i had it changed when it was serviced about 5 months ago By Miami GT. If it was this wouldn't the engine be running funny as it is not it still sounds exactly as it did this afternoon. Then this evening it started all of a sudden, wasn't racing it or anything just driving normally stopped at some lights and i could hear it.

Hi All, Before it's said i have searched the forum and cannot find anything similar. I seem to have devloped a knocking noise at the front of my engine, right where the cam wheels are. I am not mechanically minded so i don't know what they are called. It seems to come and and fade away every 20 second or so, and is quite a rapid knock. It sounds similar to knocking something plastic against the engine if this helps. Wondered if anyone can give me an idea of what it may be. BTW after reading some of the other threads i topped the oil up to see if that helped cause they mentioned that, but havent had it changed for about 4000 miles. Thanks Everyone.

I think you need a copy of xp home to rectify this, shouldn't have to be original as you are only using it for a repair and even if it comes to re-installation your licence sticker will register it as original. I think that the recovery disks will only work with the spec of the original pc as i have had this problem before. I don't think that the disk can be altered but i may be wrong. If you still have no joy i can get hold of a copy of xp pro with codes which i can post to you if you pm me your address. But doing it this way you will lose all data you currently have unless you can get another HDD boot it with WIN 98 or ME floppy, with your original HDD as a slave and copy off any relevant files. Then switch them back, install XP on the original HDD and all your files will be on the slave then simply copy them back across. Unless anyone else knows another way, not sure if my way is the best, just the way i would do it.

Just taking a calm drive around the perimeter road at heathrow when all of a sudden a policeman comes walking out into the middle of the road and waved me down. Being the good citizen that i am i calmly pull over to the side to see what the problem is. 15 minutes (and a load of safety chat) later i pull away £60 lighter with more pocket dent to come from the insurance company when i tell them about my new shiney 3 points. Being only 24 and already paying more than my rent in insurance, i can safely say i've had better satrdays (thats including the ones where i'm at work in the stifiling heat). Anyway, i did not have anyone else to moan to so i thought i'd share with you lot. Any one (hopefully not) know what i am to expect from the insurance co. when i come to re-new?? What ever happens i will not sell my pride and joy for the sake of money i would rather park it up and drive my crappy car around untill i can afford to bring it out of hibernation. I dont want to buy it and have shoddy goods for the sake of a few quid (i don't know how much a real Bomex kit costs). Saw you at cineworld, then saw your car in feltham parked on a driveway on the A312. There is a black Supra a couple of doors down from where you were. Wondering if you knew the owner, or if are they a member too. Nice to see there are some owners local to me.

Have seen this one twice in as many days in Hanworth, once parked on the A312 sliproad by The Mount with driver present and once on the way to Whitton on the other side of the road. Spotted this Supe on the way to the pub coming towards the A316 just by Sainsbury at APEX Corner on the A312 at around 17:10. I think that it was a Vielslide kit but being quite new the world of Supra's can't be absoultely sure. Looked good though!

Could have been me, what sort of time? Mines a silver standard J-Spec TT with tints, didn't mean to ignore you but if it was me i was either on my way to or from work so i would not have really been focusing on anything else but getting there or home. You know how it is! I'll keep my eyes open if you are reguarly round that way.
