These things are £75 or so from Mr T hief.

I've found a few going for less than £20 inc a gasket and P&P.

Save yourself £55 and buy me a pint next time you find me thirsty.

Or say thank you even, which is rarer than rocking horse guano on here these days.

When should the filter be change? Millege ?

I'm not sure on mileage but as a simple guide.

Pull your dipstick out and check the colour of the ATF, it should

be a nice cherry red colour.

If its not i'd do a fluid and filter change but i'd do this on a ramp

as its much easier and will only take 1 hour max to do

5 litres of type IV ATF from Toyota is around £60

With the transmission out of the car, it's simple to get a clean face for a good RTV to seal well.

With the transmission in the car, the job is a game of;

Nasty ATF rain-drops falling on your head and RTV re-assembly is unreliable when applied in this environment, so a gasket is used instead, they come in both rubberised cork and black PVC? flavours.

Every bolt in the job is a 7ftlber.

I have this to do twice next week, a VVTI Tiptronic filter-change and a valve-body swap and filter change in my Hybrid transmission.

Doing the job from underneath, it's a PITA to keep stopping to get hands clean enough to pick up a camera.

I promise it takes 2 days to get your hands clean after doing this job, it's not the dirtiness of the stuff, it's the persistence of it, that's what it does for it's job.

It doesn't matter how clean they look when you go to bed, when you wake up in the morning, you'll think you've done the job again in your sleep. :rlol:

I'll take a few pics and post them.

Your not going to take the box out to do a filter change though and latex gloves

are pretty cheap, it is a pain getting the sealer off but not too bad if you use a ramp

and brake cleaner. You just have to be thorough to get the faces clean and then you

don't suffer any leaks.

Obviously if your on your back under the car then its not nice but then no job is

if your working like that.

Pictures too :D .............Is this similar to the N/A ?

Scratch that David .......just visited your thread :D

Thanks again .

Preempting further query it was a convenient way to answer more questions before you'd asked them.

I hope that doesn't get me into trouble? ;)
