Thorin
Apalled by this!! The child is two years of age in an airport!! http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1027835_toddler_in_airport_horror H. "She went missing at about 6.45pm on Thursday as her parents joined the queue for Airblue flight ED221 to Islamabad. Her father is understood to have seen her heading towards a vending machine." So he just let her wander off on her own in the airport and from the sounds of it thought nothing of letting her go off and explore. I wonder how long it was before they thought, hmmm she's been gone a while!

Pete
To be fair kids get everywhere, you just turn your back for a second and they're on their way through the baggage x-ray machine.

hogmaw
What's so bad about an x-ray machine? People go in them every day in hospitals. X-rays are harmful as they disrupt your DNA and can be carcinogenic. That's why radiographers in hospitals stand behind a lead sheild while the machine is on. It's ok for the odd necessary procedure like broken bones etc, but prolonged exposure is dangerous. Also airport machines might have stronger rays than hospitals, not sure about that

Kranz
In a crowded environment a 2 year old can get through (mostly under and around) the crowd at an alarming rate Having seen (daily) how crowded the check in area of departures can become, it wouldn't be difficult to loose a nipper. I must admit that I did lose our two year old in the Trafford Centre a couple of years back. We'd had him a while though so it wouldn't have been that bad........ Seriously, I do understand how easy it is but to let her wander off like that is unforgiveable!! H.
