Well done guys, i was going to pop along to say well done but you all looked busy so i thought i wouldnt pester you :)

Must be tempted now to strip it for a few months and try to get the time a bit lower ;)

Pop along anytime, will always make time for you guys :)

We've always been tempted to strip it but it just seems a shame.

Was a great run, crowd loved it when you got into the 9's, only bad bit of news now guys is you have to get all your flyers re-printed!!

I did not understand the 10 second rule though? does it apply to all classes outside the pro class? So by running faster than a 10 you disqualify yourself? One of the FWD cars did it as well and that’s what the commentator was doing a poor job of explaining, something about 10 secs and faster has to be in the pro class.

Yeah, nevermind will have to get the flyers done again!

i know its pathetic, you push your car and possibly do a once in a life time run and get disqualified??? whats all that about, while i understand the safety aspect as long as they comply then whats the problem?

Silly isn't it. They are changing this for next year apparently so street cars can run faster.

Is there different requirements for the Pro class? is it something as simple as street dont require a roll cage or something stupid like that?

Obviously I know mots of the street class have cages in, just wondering where such a stupid rule comes from.

Pro Class cars need more safety equipment, although we have all of that equipment (and then some) bar a parachute. Street cars are supposed to have roll cages still. Some don't but that won't be allowed next year.

That was the 1st time i have seen this car run,i have to say for a non stripped supra that was bloody fast.Well done gaz and kev.

Thanks mate :)

Regards,

Gaz.

awesome run -- and if you take up on our customers offer of the box which will knock off 1 to 1.5 seconds..

now that is a scary thought for a full weight car.

Its another option, one we've always considered.

We need to see what the rules are for our series next year and go from there.

The rule only applies to the street class and FWD. If you run under a 10.00 the time does not count towards your qualification or if its in the eliminations you are dissqualified. If you run several nines I guess you will be asked to run in the Pro class although the safty aspect is very stringent and the car would need more work done to it.

So the chance of us running another nine at an event is going to be remote. If I get a good start it will be a case of watching the competitor and powering off before the line if possible.

In terms of Saftey next year all the cars will have to have a set criteria if they want to run in the Street class. Which is mainly approved cage, Scatter shield, Drive shaft hoops, longer wheel studs, engine cut off, fire suit, gloves, helmet, Neck brace etc. Our car curently qualifies so is ready for the new rules. I think we are probaly one of the only cars that does atm.

Thanks

Kevin

Did anyone get a video of it? I was filming it but looked at it last night and you can see the start and then mainly the floor and some girls arse as I think I realsised it was an exceptionally good start and forgot about the camera.

That old chestnut ;)

I've got a good one, but it all goes wrong at the end when I realised how good it was :D

Congratulations guys. Fantastic stuff.

Stupid regulations though. So as the car qualifies for the pro series, are you entering that next year?

It will be a real shame to have to not show it's full potential due to a technicality.

Well done in the meanwhile though :)

Well next year they think there will be 4 rather than 3 series this year. This year we had, FWD, Street and Pro.

Next year they are thinking FWD, Street, Street Pro & Pro.

Pro will be the ultimate for for Jap cars still, however Street Pro will be an unlimited category for stock chassised vehicles. Its all up in the air at the moment.

Gaz.
