That takes the total vet bill to about the 7k mark in 18 months, honestly, he get EVERYTHING, he's like a sickly child. If Stig gets it I'll be mad Anyones dog ever had this? Konrad
Not mine. Mars only had stomach problems, he couldn't digest dry food properly, so he had everything cooked from scratch. Other than that he is very healthy dog.
AndrewOW
That poor Raptor! I would hope its easy to treat, but as you say, he does seem to want to pick everything up! Maybe you'll have to sell your Supra to pay for all the treatment.
Supragal
Apparently it's like whooping cough in babies. Joy joy joy. No contact with other dogs for 3 months. hahahaha HAHAHAHAAA. Riiiiight. So 3am walks then??

AndrewOW
Luckily he's insured and Jons dog The scar from his stitches is massive No wonder our pet insurance premiums have gone through the roof! Don't try and blame it on Jon. You wouldn't be without them I'd imagine it will be very cold and nasty at 3am for your 'quarantined' walks as well. I hope he doesn't get 'man flu' too! Shadow Beast
one of mine got kennal cough about 18 months ago, a 9 year old black lab, as we have a 6 year old choclate one as well, it was past acrossed to him so we had 2 dogs with it, what i did was give them a childs cough mixture just to sooth there throats, as it sounds really rasp when they were coughing, i cant remember if he had any thing from the vets, i will ask jen this afternoon and get back to you. the vet has always said to me anything you can give a child you can give to a dog, and i have used this advice now for years. richie
Eve
Poor pooch! Must be very uncomfortable for him. Hope he gets better soon and doesn't pass it to your other doggy.
tbourner
I've heard some bits about KC, obviously it's not as bad as bloat and all the other nasty things that (especially large) dogs can get. As you say it's just a PITA to look after while he's got it.
n boost
One of mine had kc when they ere a pup. It is passed around from dog to dog by sniffing i think. My mate has a doberman and has also had loads of problems with his skin/scratching and has also had large vet bills.

I wonder that, you don't tend to see 'runts' so much in pure bred litters, none of them were obviously runty, but I think he probably is!!! Chris Wilson
It'll actually clear up if you do nothing, but antibiotics will speed it up, and help prevent him infecting others, it's not serious. Puppy went to the pub last night, wasn't sick in the car, and enjoyed it as much as his owner, although we limited his beer at 5 weeks
Supragal
Yeah it's nose to nose contact, vet said Stig might get away with it, liek sometimes humans don't get colds that they are in contact with. We will see. He's got antibiotics to prevent it getting worse as it can lead to pnemonia etc. 7k. yes. Most of that is Irritable Bowel disease related, steroids, veterinary diet etc, then the stitches, mites, plus others bits n bobs. I call him sicknote. pete_TT
My dog had kennel cougth when we got him from the rescue centre. He wasn't allowed walks longer then 15 mins and had to use a harness rather then a collar for walks.
Steviekid
Did they give you any drugs for the Kennel Cough out of interest? Edit: Too slow

Both of them just lay down and went to sleep. Hmm, actually, sicknote did have his moments of painting the place in liquid poo. Nice.
