tbourner
http://www.learn2type.com/TypingTest This one's another good one: http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php But sometimes has odd style writing, and it gives you errors if you correct the bad spelling/grammar in the text!!! I usually get a few wrong on that one! I'm averaging around 45WPM pretty much every time, sometimes get one or two mistakes but generally clean. Would be interesting to see what speeds people on here type at, especially as there are so many techy computer people on here.
Pete
First test - Your speed was 59 WPM with 3 mistakes (adjusted speed 56 WPM) Second one - Your speed was: 53wpm. Congratulations! You made no mistakes, practice does make perfect. (I was determined not to make any mistakes so it was slower)

jim_supra
I got 30 words per minute, would like to type faster though. I always have to look at the keys when I type aswell!!

Charlotte
70wpm is my actual speed (well I had a test about two months ago). I learnt it at college as well as audio typing. It's so much easier when you don't have to look down. edit: Are people doing it properly, ie fingers on the right keys?
tbourner
I have my middle fingers on the dashed keys, but the gf who did a course said that was wrong! I still can't touch-type properly, have to look at the keys for all but the most common words.
Pabs
edit: Are people doing it properly, ie fingers on the right keys? I never understand why this should matter - if I'm fast and very accurate, then i don't see why my pinkies need to be used! lol
edd_t
i dont put my fingers in exactly the right place, thats un-comfy! lol i can defiantly type faster when im not reading what i need to type, lol. but it looks like i'll never be a secretary! Pabs
It doesn't I suppose, but to be a touch typist you don't look down! Ah, but believe it or not, I don't need to look down either. I use about 4 fingers in total - 2 on each hand. Therefore I touch-type - or at least I "feel-type" LOL

lust2luv
65wpm, no mistakes, but my phone rang right in the middle of it and distracted me no end.
Supragal
Your speed was 41 WPM with 4 mistakes (adjusted speed 37 WPM) I used to be much quicker but I don't have any real need for it now. Might try and get good again as I've started doing loads more documentation and it irritates me making mistakes and occasionally having to look at the keys!
