Pete
See my garage. Facelift VVTi, TT, Tiptronic, big brakes, LSD. Just missing leather. This is of course entirely open to your personal view. Many prefer a 6spd, but I like the tiptronic. Same for the colour. Many love the blue, perhaps as it's so rare. It was the one I always wanted anyway...after 3 1/2 years and three Supras later I got it.
Bobbeh
Depends what you consider important on a standard model, there are lots of variations.
Jake
Best IMO would be a 2002 Supra TT with the VVTi engine and 6 Speed gearbox. In black or RSP
Homer
Well, IMO it would have to be an RSP 2002 RZ TT 6spd. I only know of one in the UK and last time I saw it thing thing looked like it had driven out of a showroom.
Bobbeh
Why the VVTi? It has no proven advantages over the normal engines.
Pete
Best IMO would be a 2002 Supra TT with the VVTi engine and 6 Speed gearbox. In black or RSP 2002 just because its one of the last I assume? I guess they had REAS for what that's worth?
Pete
Why the VVTi? It has no proven advantages over the normal engines. Apart from more torque?
Kopite
Why the VVTi? It has no proven advantages over the normal engines. waits for Chris Webley and the VVTI lot
Bobbeh
Makes no real world difference imho.
Jake
Make plenty of real world difference imo. Have you driven a VVTi Rob?
Pete
Make plenty of real world difference imo. Have you driven a VVTi Rob? Definately. I noticed a considerably difference to the non vvti turbo I had. Both in standard form.
Bobbeh
Dont get me started on how well yours drives Jake Reportedly 25 more ft/lbs right? Out a total of 300+? not much difference
dangerous brain
1995 GZ TT aerotop the last TT aerotop they made, or a 95 6spd UK in black, or a 2002 N/A aerotop in royal saphire blue if they made one in that colour. IMHO this is.

Bobbeh
Not at all, I just said it depends on what he considers important on a standard car, I wouldnt decide on a VVTi over a normal Supra engine for any performance gains.
Darren-K
thing is, the last is usualy considered the best they could possibly go,or can mean a total failure, - so i would say maybe the last one was the best ? the most perfect refined version they could make ? maybe so ;~)
Darren-K
* what does "MEMBERSHIP DUE" mean ? , is it like dew on the grass in the mornings
Bobbeh
Or you could say they were just trying to tart up the image with new technology? Its good tech, we have it in our Celica, but on an NA I would rate it to make more real world difference than on a car with turbos. You have to pay 10£ a year to post here fella, and it maybe that you're hitting your high post level (without being a member)
Faye
or a 2002 N/A aerotop in royal saphire blue if they made one in that colour. IMHO this is. They stopped aerotop production in Aug 98 apparently. When I was looking for my Supe I found an RSP NA aero on an S plate. But at 5k more than mine even I wasn't that daft. ivan
VVTi tiptronic all the way. Mine's the same as Rogue's - but I've got leather... But IMO they're ALL great.
Bobbeh
Agreed Ivan, tbh if i wanted the best model I could get (for condition etc you'd want the newest model available) it would be as Jake said the latest VVTi in black/blue. I'd want the 6 speed box too, but like a lot of things its totally up to your own preference. Out of interest, has anyone got a dyno sheet for a stock VVti engine? I'd like to have a look
Jake
I know you don't believe the VVTi makes more/earlier torque but have you driven one? I did ask before but you didn't say. I don't have a dyno sheet for mine, sorry.
