Chris Wilson
Whereabouts did UK dealers fit the Scorpion T5000 alarms standard on UK TT Supras, does anyone know please? I have a car in that all my usual external tricks to reset these alarms has failed on and I cannot start the vehicle. I need to jumper whatever it disables. Thanks. Big Supes
Without sounding like an old women, it might be best to PM the answer to this one. If there's anything I can do to assist, I'm happy to help Chris. I'll confess I don't know a great deal about the alarm system though. herbiemercman
Hi Chris, Long time no see. I last saw you when i came to your place with my brother Adrian's TT which was choked with soot and needed a replacement ECU. I am his brother Ian Jones and i still have my NAT which i have owned from new in 1996, still only 60K on the clock. Basically i want to know if you are still operational with these machines? mine is poorly, it runs great for 10 miles or so and then starts heavy missfiring with dense thick plume soaked in petrol coming from the exhaust. My friend who is a good mechanic thinks the problem is the Totoyota 4 runner cap and rotar, i cannot see this as they have only covered 3k miles from new at the NAT conversion, and they look like new. I think it is more likely to be the coil which is 24 yrs old and 60k miles. I do not know if the car has an oxy sensor? but i think the crakshaft position sensor could be involved as the failure mode is just like i had on another car i had? I assume you have the diagnostic equipment? as this to me me is going to be the only way to "clear the fog". I am hoping you are still on the Club site, but with the new software layout i am struggling to find people. Be great for me if you can answer this post. Chris Wilson
Sounds like the engine ecu may have succumbed to electrolyte from leaking capacitors damaging the board. I have tried various UK specialists claiming to be able to repair them, but none have. Being na you should find a good used one to try, then see if you can buy one to keep if it works. Have you checked for fault codes?? The above is best guess only, from symptoms. I am still going, very busy right now, but ring me if you like. 07971-952084
herbiemercman
Thank you for prompt reply. I am glad you are still operational.Obviously i want to get you to check the fault codes but you are far away and busy, meanwhile do you know any one who could do the fault codes nearer me, i am at Chorley, Lancs. PR67JT. Back to the failure mode it seems the problem only arises after a few miles and everything hot, i am assuming the ECU under the passenger seat would not get involved with heat? Would diagnostics show the ECU leaking capacitors as the car is fine for short journeys?

chaoticentity
I can't promise any of these will be helpful, but this is what the alarm system looked like under my driver's seat when I removed everything. I wish I took more detailed photos
