Heater matrices no longer available?

I don't think its a panic stage. There are plenty of companies around that re-core radiators and heater matrix's. Just means people will have to park up the car while the core is repaired or replaced and it may cost more than an off the shelf Toyota one did (though maybe not knowing Toyota prices). Supra owners will just need to get savvy about having parts fixed, patched or machined. welcome to old classic car ownership!

It's an all alloy core, in welded alloy end tanks, not made to have a new core fitted. It's in Germany with my IC builder for evaluation. It will be at least as dear as the last price from Toyota, but looks doable. It's quite sophisticated with a high tube density and a double pass header tank design, plus the pipe couplings will need machining as it's not a simple push on fitting. Cutting the old tanks off and cleaning them up, seeing how corroded they are and checking the pipe fitting stubs for corrosion and damage is likely more costly than just making male formers and hand beating new ones. We'll see, but don't expect a bargain price. At least they should perform as well or better than OE.
