Guest haydon Posted December 22, 2014 Share Posted December 22, 2014 Uk spec on 18 inch alloys. Rubbing arch lining towards the front of car badly when getting lock on. Tyre size is 245 40 18 any idea on how to stop without ripping out the garde Thought about spacers but it's not hitting the top so wouldn't do much unless it pulls it away enough for it to clear. Sometimes it's not but you can measure it ourself like this .... Lay the wheel & tyre on the ground (outside up) and measure the distance from the ground to the hub mounting face using a tape rule (DIM A). Turn the wheel over (outside down) and measure the distance from the ground to the hub mounting face again (DIM B). Subtract DIM B from DIM A and divide the answer by 2 to get the offset. EG: DIM A = 167.5mm; DIM B = 97.5mm; DIM A - DIM B = 70mm; offset = 35mm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gdog1989 Posted December 29, 2014 Share Posted December 29, 2014 If its really loud on full lock I had this before so I put the car on the drive on full lock and could see it hitting the wheel lining but also noticed in the middle of the lining was a bolt missing so put a new one in and it pulled the lining away from the wheel and stopped rubbing, hope this helps. Dnk Posted December 29, 2014 Share Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Check the lining that is directly in front of the wheels, mine used to just catch them where the vents are on full lock That was using 255 35 19 tyres though and lowered 30mm, Your size is only 10mm bigger in diameter over stock so shouldn't catch unless its very low, does it catch on both sides ?
