Big Supes
After running just fine for around 6 months my car started stalling at traffic lights and the idle can be a little unsettled. I also noticed I could no longer hit over 1.1 bar of boost... this has got worse, dropping to 1 bar, and now only 0.9. After reading researching the stalling I was swaying towards the o2 sensor as it was reading 0.3v which would be the cause for running rich and I presumed the ECU could be cutting boost despite the HKS FCD. I've checked for boost leaks, but couldn't find any and I have a new O2 sensor to ready to fit, but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Something to note, I didn't have any warning lights, although I currently have a variety after butchering off my ABS sensor to replace a wheel bearing. Would be nice to get it sorted before JAE. *UK Spec car* Cheers!
Tommyd16
How are the turbo link pipes? They can collapse in side and become restrictive
Big Supes
Haven't checked dude, but will get on it. Thanks for the tip.
Nic
Check the ECU for stored error codes. A slight drop in boost pressure *may* just be down to the hotter weather, have you tried adjusting your boost controller?
Big Supes
I haven't checked for error codes as no warning light popped up, but will check after I have sourced and fitted the new ABS sensor. It was pulling 1.3bar in warmer weather than what we have now. It also managed the same boost on dude's dyno after a 700bhp Audi S6 had just cooked the entire bay. I have tried turning the gain up to 100% and also the boost from 60% to 100% and no change.
Big Supes
Update.... Parts replaced/eliminated: Turbo link pipes Temp sensor Both O2 sensors The car is still running rich and won't boost over 0.9 bar. I'm back to thinking it's a boost leak or the AFM, but I still haven't found any leaks in the system using water and fairy liquid. Just a quick question for anyone who can help... what vacuum reading are you seeing when idling or shutting the throttle when driving?

supra_ufo
Could it be coilpack connecters?
Big Supes
Replaced the stock BOV yet? Yes mate. Could it be coilpack connecters? Are they prone to go? I've been toying with replacing all the coil packs to rule them out, as they could probably do with being changed anyway.

Tommyd16
Is the hks FCD at the right setting? Number 9 I think? I've also heard of these failing or causing issuea and the greddy bcc is a better option http://mkiv.com/techarticles/bcc/why_bcc/Why_the_GReddy_BCC.htm
mellonman
you said that the car started stalling and running lumpy right ? is that still the case , coil pack clips are a good shout as often very brittle http://www.mkiv.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?61141-How-To-Refurbish-coil-pack-connectors other then that how is you fcd fitted ? this needs to be soldered in for a good connection or can give issues
Guest Budz86
If it was coil pack clips I'd expect it to be missing at under load, but doesn't sound like it is? Worth checking though, and might as well pull the plugs and have a look at those too while you're there.
