Gretie22
My sound proofing on the bonnet is really tatty, a few of the clips are broken and it's hanging down on one side. Can I just take it off or will the heat ruin the paint on the bonnet? Or shall I try and repair it?

Chris Bailey
Alot of people take it off, I've just taken dads off because it was tatty and caused issues with heat soak on the dyno.
Josh
A lot of people have removed theirs for years with no ill effects. I removed mine as it was looking tatty, and other than the turbos sounding louder, nothing has changed

Pete
You mean the "fire blanket"?
wile e coyote
As Pete said its a fire blanket if there's an under bonnet fire the plastic clips melt causing the blanket to drop and drape over the engine Not a lot of people know that
Dnk
Cant see it draping over the engine and actually making a difference as they're quite stiff, i doubt all the clips would melt at the same time either.
