Crank seal?

berg

Recommended Posts

Cutting a long story short...

I bought the supra and it had a bad rocker cover leak and must have been like it a long time....this left the gearbox and other parts completely covered in old oil

Ive took the box off today to fit my new clutch and inside the box is exactly the same, there is also some very slight oil contamination on the clutch and flywheel

Is it possible for the oil from the rocker leak to seep into the box like that or could i have a crank seal gone aswell?

If its the crank seal is it easily changed with the flywheel remnoved or is it more of a serious job?

Cheers

Car has never lost oil since i replaced the rocker covers a good few months ago..seems strange as there is alot of old oil in there but the small amount on the clutch and flywheel looked fresh

Ill whip the flywheel off i suppose and check it over anyway

Ill happily change it though seeing as its not a big job

Anyone know any places to buy the seal from other than the dealers?
