As a bloke who works with carbon some constructive feedback if i may? the steering cowling and arm rest cover i bought are of a very good glossy finish

, I work with carbon day to day and my expectations are very high,I think that the arm rest first of all is lovely! and the fit will tell as i havent fitted it yet... this being a fairy simple panel to mould in comparision to the steering cowling has the four fixings inside these are sturdy and use the oem self tapping style screw for the plastic inner lid cover ... the only thing going forward i would change would be to drill the fixings 10mm deep and add a small say m3 or m4 brass insert to allow a countersunk anodised screw to be used for a fixing ... the steering cowling is made in two pieces i am very impressed with the three podium fixings on the underside of the cowlng which screw into the steering coloumn, again they are sturdy ... along the split lines the carbon weave would be nicer Paul if it matched up top to bottom so it looked seamless along the join where the two are fixed together on the car .My two critiscisms of this panel are the fixings. There are four small screws which will be seen when fitted these hold the two bits together, I have drilled the tabs out m3 and bonded a floating anchor nut on the back with 3m 9323 chassis glue to allow a countersunk nut and countersunk washer to be used instead of the self tapping screws.. this makes the fixings look very "showy"and tidier... also the shut lines between the two panels need the gap dressing out where the rads hold the opposing panel off in places i.e around the height adjust steering wheel stalk the arpeture has a round 6 mm rad and a square edge which should have a 6mm rad also so they fit together perfectly.... the tabs also had laquer flash which i blended off, in all they are a good quality item i think and pauls done very well to get them to this stage by who ever has done his carbon work .... i hope the feedback can be used by paul maybe so that it helps get the perfect part to the rest of you guys ,as obviously my ones are a first off... :D cheers gents..and cheers mr Whiffin.... ;P
