Dont worry fella things will get in the way. Im only 18 myself and i know the price of these things to maintain is very high. Alot of people on the forum have had to sell up :(. It was suppost to be a long term project but we havent been to lucky so its been quite a short project so far. Hopefully things will pick up in the near future :).

Think your living the dream, having one at 18:D, Looks a minter, had a quick glance:cool: Any plans on the project, if it picks up for future?

I'll be living the dream the day I can get behind the wheel! - For the moment im only a passenger. But i dont mind because the sound of the turbos spooling keeps me entertained :).

Thanks for the kind comments dude much appreciated. Thats actually an old picture but not alot has changed from the outside apart from a Trial rear bumper and new exhaust. But alot has changed under the bonnet, There alot of bling ;). Not to sure on the plans at the minute i think after all the time and money thats been put into the car since my dads ownership we just want to enjoy the car for a while and then maybe change a few things in the future. I really want to go single turbo but that costs about £10k for a decent kit, That includes everything though haha.

My story is a little different to most. A school friend of mine got one years ago and I was a little dismissive of it.

Years later he had ditched the TT Auto and had a singled track car. He was very successful in Time Attack and took me out in his car a few times. Just in case you are not aware I am talking about SteveL on here.

Long story short a few years later I am fortunate to be able to afford a mid life crises and Paul at Whifbitz had a nice TT6 available. The deal was done and I've now had it for almost 18 months and it's still special every time it comes out of the garage, which isnt often enough!

Wanted one since I started driving at 17. Always liked the look of the Supra and after seeing some at shows etc I decided to start saving. Fast forward a few years due to high insurance and wanting only a TT6 I had eventually saved enough. Joined the forum here to learn more about the car and what to expect which made me even more fussy....I then only wanted a late model TT6 VVTi in grey or black!:faint:

I spoke with Jurgen from JM-Imports about what I was after but they were few and far between. The money pot kept growing and I was searching every car site in the UK and Japan that I knew looking for the right car. Approx sept 2010 I seen two black TT6 VVTI cars and immediately contacted Jurgen for the OTR prices...by the time of checking availability one of them had sold and I promptly paid the deposit on the other! Feb 2011 my 2000 model black TT6 VVTi landed in Britain! And the rest is history!:D

I had always wanted a supra ever since i used to play Gran Turismo of the ol' playstation. (Geek info: i used to power slide it round the trial mountain circuit and watch the beautiful, for the time, graphics on the replay).

Always loved the lines of the car and the fact that it was a rarity to see them in this country.

Anyway, got mine at the begining of the year after i made a decision that i was having it before me and the missus settled down. Sold the idea to the missus when i said we will go touring round europe in it for our honeymoon in september this year.

Wanted one for years, always been into my MR2 Turbos and the Supra was always seen as the next step up. Finally saved up a big chunk of cash for a decent TT6, met the missus, moved in, funds depleted, got married, funds took a serious pasting.

Ended up with current supra, NA-TT auto. Needs a tidy up but I still love it, I am however starting to miss a manual box :(

Reason I got a Supra was because I had to sell my GTR, I changed jobs at the time and couldn't justify the spend to keep it going, always liked the Supra (F&F probably helped) but IMO it's one of those cars that doesn't really age...... and the thought I could learn to drive a RWD properly without all the gadgets a GTR had on it to make you look good haha :D

Always loved them but felt they were out of reach when I was younger.

Once I had a bit of spare cash I wanted one. Had a white NA 5 speed for three and a half years and then got a TT Tiptronic.

There are very few cars that float my boat as I am spectacularly picky when it comes to cars.

Loads of reasons for me:

Always loved them since I first saw the supra from hell video on YouTube.

Split up with my long term missus who was against the idea of spending so much cash on a car that would cost a fortune to run.

Blew my gearbox on my track car 1.8t powered Corsa on the way home from the nurburgring last year and finally fell out of love with it after the years of building it from the ground up, so started searching for supras! Took me 6 months to find the one I wanted then only drove it for 4 months before someone crashed into me and wrote it off.

Started trawling jurgens auctions for a new one straight away and he sourced and purchased one on my behalf in Japan. A long few months wait after it missed the boat later and I went to fetch it :). Had my new one 6 days now and I'm loving every minute :D

Think I've looked through your thread, Wasn't it the Red VVTI import?, Looks a Stunner mate. Always admired supra's in red :)

Main reason for me is seeing a freshly imported Veiside kitted Black Twin Turbo back in 1997 when I was 18. Now I know Veilside isn't everyones cup of tea, but back in the day, this was the first MKIV Supra that I had properly paid attention to. The thing looked awesome compared to my D reg MG Metro Turbo anyway. It was for sale via a chap that my best mate knows. I thought back then, I'll have one of those one day! I'm sure it was about £25000 or something like that, no Idea what the spec was. Then one friday in the pub my mate mentioned Supras, so I thought I'd have a look on the Saturday whilst at work.

I had a 2000 Model Impreza P1 at the time and hated it. Found my Supra on Pistonheads, emailed the guy and asked if he fancied a swap, he did, and the rest is History. I've had the car 2 years now which is a record for me! I love it!

I was into fords when I was younger... Did the usual xr2i, rs turbo etc. Decided that when I started earning ok money to treat myself to a nice car. Was after an Escort Cosworth but started to look at Jap cars aswell. I must admit "Fast and Furious" was a big selling point for a Supra. I wentr to look at a few Skylines, rx7's and supras at an import garage. Sat in the Supra and was smitten straight away.

Next job was to think about what sort of Supra I wanted. I had looked at normal TT and done a bit of research on power figures etc. Decided I could afford a single so went on the hunt. Got in touch with JM-Imports and they sent over a few cars they could import. As soon as I saw this picture I fell in love

Put the deposit down that night and then sat around for 11 weeks until it was imported. I still say now the day I went to pick it up was one of the most exciting days of my life (took 2 of my mates on the bus/train journey with me). When we came round the corner to Jurgen's unit the car was right in the middle, had just been polished and looked amazing. I couldn't beleive that it was mine and I was going to drive home in it. I remember all 3 of us just said "**** me, is that it?".... Awesome day

Fantastic Read mate, really enjoyable read, Awesome looking car you've got there mate - Is it normally around 3 months for a car to get imported from japan?:D, bet it feels like years rather than months:cool:
