Been thinking about upgrading the brakes on my supra. currently running uk spec front and rears under some 18" veilside andrews. Had a look at the d2 setups n they dont look too bad for the price. any opinions? and wud they fit under my veilside wheels?

Thankssss :)

Why do you want to 'upgrade' them? Personally if I had the larger brakes already fitted, I wouldn't waste my money on fitting anything else unless I was spending big money on something like a set of Brembo or AP Racing.

A quality set of pads, braided lines, decent fluid and a brake master cylinder stopper would give more than enough stopping power on the road.

yeah but they only have 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rears, these days people want several dozen pistons per corner..... :D

Ahh but the brembo caliper covers, ever popular on here, can be bought for the appearance. Cheap as chips... win win!

I have 355mm stoptech's on my s4 and can say they are really very good, press the pedal at any speed and they cope just fine. I have LS400 calipers on the front of my supra and they were really quite capable. My best advice would be to refurb your UK's and try bedding in a good set of pads properly, not just 'drive them easy for 300miles', give them the proper treatment. This worked wonders for all my cars.

If you're going to refurb the UKs you really need to do a proper job. New pistons, new seals, new shims and new pins are a must. If you do all of that and get some good pads on them you will find the UK calipers transformed.

The only trouble is that it will be quite costly. The pistons alone are ITRO £20 each.

I'd love a set of APs or Brembos for the same reason that I would like to have proper facelift headlights instead of 'facelifted' prefacelift headlights :)

Having just upgraded from J-Spec to UK spec, the extra stopping power is incredible :) With the right hoses, a Cusco brake master cylinder stopper and good fluid (5.1 for example) you'll be laughing :D

Just paint them a bright colour like I did and they are transformed too ;)
