VERY careful tyre fitters - Sussex??

Guys i need some advice please.

 

Gotta put some tyres on my new wheels but im paranoid about some little oik scratching them when fitting the tyres.

Where around here is a trusted tyre fitter please?

Id drive upto wheels in motion, i dont trust anyone else.

thats a tough one i use one garage local to me and no one else, so same wave lengh as jamie

I've always used CJH Tyres in Havant, they've never caused me problems and although I haven't been there for a while I think it's the same guys working there that were there when I had the Supe!

Just go down the local Kwik fit and bung the boy a tenner...........

If it was me I'd go to a Toyota garage and ask them nicely. Reason being they'll love your car and have the best kit for the job. I did exactly that with my car and it worked a treat

My Toyota garage ask me if my car is outside everytime I go and buy a part as they want to see it. It never has been, thats why I am buying a part....because its in bits at my house at the time.

I have never really thought about this, I just trust that most local type garages (non-quick fit type chains) are good at fitting. Have never had a problem.

Ebley's garage in Eastbourne fit mine, and they have to get the whole car up on jacks and everything.

 

My wheels are also precious, and they've never damaged them.

I always get them to fit the tyres with the wheels upside down on the machine, the machines clamps have rubber liners so it doesnt mark the faces, if and in your case they struggle getting the tyre to pop on, it will only mark the inside lips;)

Do you have any local VW forums? Might be wise to ask on there as they will have fancy Porsche rims with mega stretch to fit onto the Golfs etc. so will know where to go

i had the same issue and guess what i did, i used masking tape and masked up my wheels, tyres came off, but twice the tool slipped and hit the rim, thank god for the tape, my wheels never got scratch. cost me a £5 to get all the tyres swapped

That's a coincidence! I had two new tyres from there a fortnight ago. When washing my car the next day I noticed that the tyre fitter has scratched the powder coating on one of my wheels.

Putting tyres on a bare wheel is a piece of piss. Unless there totaly incompetent there is no chance of scratching the wheel, its the removal of old tyres and fitting new thats the more awkward bit.

is there anyone local who does wheel refurbs?, when i got my tyres fitted i used 'the wheel specialist' local company that does refurbs, chances are if they do powdercoating and refurbs on a daily basis they wont have machines that scratch the wheels, or the lad doing it should know to take care.
