This aint your thread.

You aren't talking sense

You are mis-quoting and mis-reading people

You are making yourself sound a bit of a t!t.

I'd advise YOU to stay out of it mate before you embarass yourself further ;)

The OP asked about cams....NOT your opinion on his single conversion route.

:rlol:

some really tightly strung people here.....

Go to Piper Cams (as they have 2JZ blanks) and do what every other tuner does, tell them what you want to achieve and they will do a bespoke grind to suit for you (usually as cheap as anything commercially available).

Curiously, I'm surprised at the mild lift everyone is running. I can only assume it's 2JZ valve train restriction as we were running nearly 12mm lift on the 3S-GTE engines.

Mine certainly doesn't run "like a dog"...

I test drove a T88 Supra a few years back, 600-630bhp, Auto, Stock Engine, but had all the other ancillary mods (ECU, Fuelling, etc).

It was fairly uninspiring under 5.5K rpm and then all hell broke loose for the remaining rpms.

Wasn't suited for street driving as far as I was concerned - Too laggy for my liking.

JUN pulleys would be my choice too.

not as bling as my HKS ones.... :)

Talking about CAMS - Whifbitz just announced the availability of a range of their own CAMS (quite reasonably priced too)....perhaps worth having a chat with Paul and see what he suggests.

I would not use piper cams as a doorstop. Austec racing had over 15 rover based TVR engines fail due to the piper cams basically dissolving, several other tuners had the same and Piper refused to honour any warranty even thought the cams were sub standard and made from the wrong material. Leave em to the escort boys and judgeing from Passion ford they don't rate them either.

The HKS ones look great but wear very quickly, more so if you have them on display, the dust and grit gets between the belt and pulley and they just go alluminium coloured on the belt run.

HKS had some problems with wear on their old design of cam pulleys, so they changed the materials and design a few years ago, the new ones are suppose to be a lot harder wearing.

I use to run their older type of pulleys, there was very light wear to the anodising after 8 years of use but that was with all the covers in place, I'm sure they'd have shown a lot more wear without the cover.

On an everyday road car I'd prefer to keep the engine non-interference.

Good shout about the cams, I imagine a t88 particuly is bad and noticible for it's lag on an auto, on a 6 speed as mine is at least u can work the gears.
