So far cheapest for me is still Aplan at £685, £115 dearer than last year.

I will give aplan a ring later on today, At the moment im paying £1300 tpft which is by far the cheapest quote I could find, I usually get over 2k.

I am alot older and have been driving longer, also have full NCB but min is FC icluding protected NCB, courtesy car, breakdown etc, the full monty basically, so you 'should' be able to get a decent premium.

Just see what they say mate, you can only try :)

Unlucky guys.

It was always going to be difficult to get a classic policy for a daily driver. Having another car for daily use may be the way to go if your premiums are silly high.

H.

My girlfriend has a 1.1 saxo which she needs for work, do you think I could somehow work with that to get a quote?

I really dont understand how this works, then again i'm 1 step away from a fully fledged retard but i used to have my mx5 insured on a classic car policy with Aplan, i kept my no claims and it was a daily driver.

I know differnt companie different rules etc but it sounds silly to me.

Ahwell another year of mr insurance bending me over good style :(

Is this agreed value cover ? when ever i've done agreed value the ins comp want printed photo's of the car inside and out and with a list of mods declared.

Then they offer a figure to which if the car is totalled they will will pay you. If you've not got a figure agreed by an insurance company then surely its drama time if the worst happens ? Cheap isn't always the best.

I have this on my car now at £13k, i have 9 points, 7 yrs ncd, 5k miles limit, garaged with all mods declared for just over £300, i am 49 so i guess i get pensioners rates lol

No agreed value, at least not with the insurers they found for me, they are brokers so presumably it depends who they use.

Waiting to hear back if they allow you to maintain/build NCB, it is on the draft policy proposal they sent so i think they will.

They were 200 pounds cheaper than Sky though!

Still waiting to hear back from LWIB,

I will prob take the cheapest quote back to Sky and they will match it if previous 5 or 6 years is anything to go by, better the devil you know...

I got fed up doing that, if another broker can quote me happy at their 1st attempt then i think Sky should.

I got a much better deal via LWIB and straight off no messing about

I know what you mean! We'll see what LWIB say.

Purity, i think ADS said how much they quoted him earlier in the thread. :)

meh, i got quoted £10,771 on moneysupermarket.com to insure my sup wen i was 20. lol i think it was with a company called a-plan or a-finance.

moneysupermarket/go compare etc. are useless for modified/imports in my experience, i did a search last week and the lowest was over double my renewal, youre better off with a specialist modified insurer or broker,

LWIB came in £30 cheaper than Lynbrook, still no agreed value though, i would say try Sky, LWIB, Livingstones and A Plan, they come out miles cheaper than the rest for me.

You need a uk spec car to get agreed value at LWIB, the same as Sky.

Why thank you Havard.

Proverbs 3:27-28 "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it"

The 'Cheapest Supra Insurance on the forum award' goes to me. For the discovery of this, I can only thank our Lord Jesus Christ for his guidance

Spend just one second of your time whilst on hold waiting for your quote, for Jesus; who died temporarily for our sins for goodness such as this.

Remember to tithe 10% of what you have saved to your local church to ensure such holiness continues, for "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

As an afterthought please note, if you are thinking of taking insurance out with these guys, STOP.

Ask yourself - are you a normal driver, or do you drive around like a dick?

If you drive like a dick, go somewhere else.

This is a safe haven of cheap insurance at the moment, don't go bumping it up for us normal people.

Dont want to take this off topic but someone linked this on facebook today and it reminded me of this thread :p

I have had mine agreed value with Sky for 5+ years now, I know it used to be they could only continue agreed value for those that got when they did, but they 'might' be able to do agreed value to new customers with imports now as they are using a different insurer, (was on phone to them today).

Probably worth giving them a try if youre reading this and want agreed value because you'd have a job getting it anywhere on an import supe.

oh, and LWIB came out cheapest, got Sky to match but plus 80 odd for the agreed value, worth the extra IMHO
