SupraStar 3000
Corvette losses control http://www.machovideo.com/video/Corvette_losses_control__17888/ I'm always fearful of something similar happening on one of our convoys

dangerous brain
Couldn't control the car basically. It kicked down on him by the sounds of it when he gave it gas kicked out so he sh*t it and dumped off the gas completely it changed gear again making steering the car almost impossible. Too much going on in too short a time. Odds on if his mate hadn't stopped him with the side of his car that guy was going off into the reservation. dangerous brain
See you say idiot but that could happen to anyone in an auto. Kick down can be viscous, and if you don't catch it and you are in a confined space boom!! I had it happen in my supra on a motorway in a straight line. I put my foot down, obviously enough for it to kick down and despite the RLTC being on its top setting she stepped out 30 degrees ish before it and I caught it. You really are not expecting a car to step out when you are driving straight so an over-reaction is not surprising. From what I remember one of our lot lost it in a similar fashion going up the strip at santa pod and visited the barrier. It is a very easily done thing. People do it just to trip off their BOVs

foggy147
Something like that best not happen at the convoy to japfest, I would expect people would be more sensible with an event like that though!
AlexM
See you say idiot... It is easily done, but if you don't know how your car behaves then you shouldn't be doing it (Especially when there are other people/cars in close proximity). I drove my Auto like a baby until I had a good feel for when and where it would kick down (I had to re-learn after going from NA to TT too), I've now got a pretty good feel for it and it's never happened unexpectedly (famous last words ).. dangerous brain
Only takes a couple of seconds. I remember a rex guy planted his car into a fellow rex member at the ring a while back in very similar circumstances.

SupraStar 3000
I remember a certain incident a few years back involving a Supra convoy on the way to Santapod. Think the only members left on here that might remember it are Ray and Colin. That would have made a neat YouTube vid. Let this be a lesson to as all! Never leave home without the dashboard cam switch on.

Terminator
The only way that could happen in a MKIV convoy is if someone drives like a dick head.
CJ
The only way that could happen in a MKIV convoy is if someone drives like a dick head. I can only assume that you have never driven to the amount of meets that I have and seen instances of bad driving far worse than that.
Terminator
I guess not, but the few I have attended, nothing quite likethat, a few daft manoeuvres but no off's. It does not matter what car it is you can get atrocious drivers in all cars. I have driven a C06 many times and it take a lot to get it to step out on a dry road. Once it steps out it is not difficult to hold.
Miguel
I wonder if Gillian Taylforth was a passenger in the car. Maybe he/she just got distracted by the up coming drive-tru.
