miko_supra
Something to replace the Supra for the new year once i get the thing fixed, and it seems a good time to upgrade, what do peeps think of these two options? One of them is to buy a Tvr i test drove a Chimaera and i was disapointed with the power when you consider all the negative things that come with tvr ownership. I've been looking at the Cerbera 4.2 v8 recently and test drove one the other day (I'm still smiling, lets put it that way), these can be picked up for around £8-9k now. The next option was to buy an s2000. What attracts me to this? I like how its reliable, comfortable and modern and I've been looking at turbo kits for this and would make a nice project for the new year. For around £3-4k you can get these to about 340hp on stock internals.

Swampy442
If thats your 2 choices S2k all the way. The Cerbera sounds great and goes like stink, but for how long? Also its got a half moon ashtray from an LDV van in the door card lol. Honda turn key reliabillity ftw
hadyn
To be fair theres not much that can compare out there to a Supra for the money really.

grahamc
Have you driven an S2000? My missus wanted one, so we went for a test drive and with the roof up it felt very small inside, I felt very uncomfortable. However, with those 2 choices, I would go S2000..... Budget? 10K? I've had a sit in the drivers seat and have been given a ride in one by a dealer as he said i needed to pre book a proper test drive, felt really nice in there. I like how in modern cars dont rattle . And yes 10k max. The thing that attracts me about the s2000 is i can pick one up for around 6.5/7k and then gradually spend the 3k on mods as i go along. They sound awesome with a new exhaust, especially for a 2litre.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsixZP9R1Pg&feature=related Im quite surprised by the amount of votes for the s2000 tbh, of course jamies reply doesnt surprise me! I myself like them equally, but in different ways. If i had the s2000 i would probably get rid of my run around as i can use it as an every day car without worrying about it dying. But the Cerbera seems like a nice step up from the supra in terms of performance and all round wow factor.

Pig
sorry, i couldnt resist. Personally, if im honest i would go with neither. Go BPU or manual if your not already. That should solve things for you.

Well your left with single or change car. Maybe the TVR isnt a bad shout. Im sure it will be alot more fun than the hair dressers car.
Carl_S
Either would be good as it represents the brave change you are going for. I think S2K would be better, as I think it represents more of a bold change. I am sure it will prove fun and reliable too. TVR's look like big melted candles to me. GazB
My sensible choice would be the ever reliant Honda, with good performance, reliability and a modern looks that is ok for male or female driver. Ideally a 2nd or 3rd car My real choice would be the TVR, sheer brute force and ignorance and a smile car also a 2nd or 3rd car thought

jevansio
Cerbs are just mental, would have to be the 4.5 though, left me tingling when I got out of one, and with a decat there is NOTHING that sounds like it
Thorin
S2000 out of the two definately. what about a 350z with a supercharger kit? A better option IMO, but I'm not sure what second hand prices are like for those.
