Totally understand where you're coming from. I've even contemplated moving onto something else like an NSX or a 'vette, what with all the maintenance of the Supe as it reaches its tipping point. I keep investing in it to keep it sweet, and the love for it is becoming more and more jaded.

BUT. I know everything I do for the car is a positive thing - new wheel bearings, new rad, new suspension boots, new screen, new thermostat, new coilpack clips, etc. These things just breathe new life into a hunk of metal that I can look back at after parking and still be proud that it runs perfectly even after doing enough miles to circle the planet four times.

Is Linda gay too? :D

No, are you?? :p

Thanks for the comments peeps, still cheesed off today but taking it on the chin, so to speak. Others have suffered far worse with their cars but it really is the drip, drip, drip of money that affects your lifestyle.

I lost my job in June and the new one's made me take a pay cut of £4K, closer to £5K with the bonuses so money's a bit tight, as it is for most people at the mo :( With them money I spent on the Supe I could have gone to Egypt on a luxury cruise at least 8 times by now :D

It will get better you!! And at least you now have a job sweetie, there are thousands who don't

At least when the car is sorted you can enjoy it whenever you want...

And the discussion about you picking up my Aristo once finished from Jezz seems like a winner for me :D Espeically as you get a car for a short while

I had this feeling last december so i sold up and bought a nice reliable Merc diesel.... Lasted till May and i bought another Supra! Weather you're crawling through traffic or blasting down a motorway there's nothing like doing it in a Supra :)

In the past 4 years I 've spent so much money on the supra that i could have ANY car i want..including a lamborghini! The pleasure i get out of it though makes me forget the word 'money', savings?? what is this?

Sorry to hear your Supe's still poorly Linda, hopefully you will get it sorted soon, but whatever you do DON'T SELL IT :(

I had exactly the same feeling a few months ago, including buying it I have spent about 14.5k since january  but I now have a cheap runaround for work which is what I recommend you do aswell ;)

I've just bought myself a little run around to get me to and from work everyday so that there is less pressure on the supe as I'm sure 300 miles a week on a 12 year old car isn't good. Hopefully this will keep her from costing me a fortune a bit longer.

Hope it all gets fixed soon and you can go back to enjoying it again ;)

Ive had a knock coming from the back of my car since i first bought it thinking a mechanic would be able to fix it (i got the car cheaper because of that), Its been to three import specialist and none of them can find the problem, Some of time i feel like selling because of that knocking noise, However everytime I see the car i think wow i actually drive this beast and I would hate to sell it. If only i could get that problem fixed then i would be completly happy with it.

Thats cos non of them have tightened up the spare wheel yet:p. Seriously, they're not much good as specialists. Its likely to be suspension related and i'd start with the ARB bushes.
