Guest avaasdf
Hi, im new on this forum and im getting my supra deliverd i 3 weeks sadly its imported on some retarded norwegian rules so its not allowed to tune it. Therefore i was woundering if i could do something "invisible" electronict, pistons ore something like that Thanx from a soon to be supra owner btw im thinking about using from 2000 to 10.000 $ Edited November 21, 2008 by avaasdf (see edit history)
Lbm
There's probably not a lot you can do to make a significant difference. Any reason why you didn't by a tt, looking at your modification budget?
stevie_b
Your options are very limited with an NA. It's been discussed a lot already. Decat is the main thing that springs to mind, but that probably doesn't count as "invisible".
hoff
OEM air box and filter, Tubular manifold, uprated exhaust, good service, and thats about it really mate. NA-TT conversions are popular though. But you're looking at between £2-3K.
Guest avaasdf
the tt costs 25.000$ more, an are very har to register in norway :\ what is a decat?

Tricky-Ricky
The ECU is not chipable outside Japan and Canada, there is also nothing to be gained by doing this to the N/A ECU, you are pretty much stuck for anything that is not immediately apparent for tuning the N/A, sorry! Guest sundog
A N/A owner recently told me he was sure that the splitfire full leads set up made a lot of difference to the power of he's car, didnt have anything to back that up with though any ideas on this? Kranz
Splitfire leads will do nothing.... not one jot, except empty your wallet! If you have faulty leads then replace them with a stock set. You'll get a power gain if faulty leads are replaced, but that's all.
Kranz
what is a decat? If you want an invisible decat then get a second set of catalysts and drill/bash the insides out so that they are empty but look like they are still fitted. If you really want to get all the power gain then you could sleeve them inside with a tube to prevent power loss.
3LL
rather than tuning engine, why not look at improving brakes, and suspension. He who brakes later, and goes faster round corners, goes faster in general

miko_supra
I've heard you get get around 40bhp with uprated cams. Although i know nothing of the subject...Might be worth researching about

Although i know nothing of the subject...Might be worth researching about You're thinking of an already BPU+ or single turbo Supra, 40 bhp is really the upper limit with cams, on an N/A you will be lucky to see 7-10 bhp. Kranz
on an N/A you will be lucky to see 7-10 bhp. But 7 to 10 bhp on an NA is a hell of an increase

Decat is the main thing that springs to mind, but that probably doesn't count as "invisible". i was just wondering would any recommend removing both cat's ? just my mate had the second cat ( back cat ) removed and seem more power from the car and proved from the Rolling road 225bhp. but then he had the first cat removed ( front cat ) and seemed a bit more nipper but when it came to the rolling road it proved with the first cat of his lost BHP - 214bhp, but gained on torque though. Would any one give any advise on this ? or maybe could explain it more ? as i'm running Full SS exhaust with the front car still on. but thinking about taking my front cat off but not to sure,

SupraAyf
The easiest (and cheapest) method of getting better acceleration from your NA is to drop it off a cliff. The 0-60 is increased by 50% so you can't tell me that's a bad increase for £0 expenditure:innocent:

Dazzi
Not cheaper in the long run if you have to buy a supra every time you want to increase your speed by '50%'.
