Yeah, so they don't die. I think I'd wear the armour too...

Having been involved in a match where the opposition's QB had his back broken, I'd wear "armour" too, if I was brave enough to play again ;)

Mike

Happens in Rugby too, broken bones, necks and backs. I know of someone who died in a ruck and that was when I was still at School. :( So yeah I stand by comment.

I think its as tough as rugby you just don't get the cut up face and messed up ears to show for it............the equipment and rules allow you to tackle harder and often when the opponent is not prepared.

Agreed, IMO the hits are harder for sure having played both:) I really don't think that Rugby and American Football can be compared really in that respect, the tackling and how you are aloud to tackle etc is very differant. Both great sports:)

While we're on the subject, Scooter why the Seahawks helmet? Obviously they are your team but do you have any reasons behined it? Im a Dolphin fan as when I was a kid and started watching it on channel 4 Dan Marino was the man:)

No particular reason, just used to watch from the early years it was aired on channel 4. Chose the Seahawks pretty much on their name alone!

Watched a few Monarchs games at the old wembley, played for years and went to the Giants game at the new wembley last year.

Very tempted to play again, but not too many clubs near and the travelling to train/play is a PITA.

I would compare the NFL to Rugby in terms of toughness if they didn't have breathers every 15 seconds! Because of that.. its Rugby hands down.

Speaking of which, anyone off to Saturdays game? :D

American football is so tactical (which alot of people don't realise) which is what brings on the stopages. Yes its a pain but its only really around 30 seconds unless its time out.

Excellant mate. When I said play I think I meant more a couple of training sessions when I was in Uni. As a goalkeeper (footy being my main sport) i was never fit enough:d

More than i suspect some :taped: have done :innocent:

I like my footy too, including the odd spell in goal at 5-a-side I can block a fair portion of the goal and will take a point blank shot! but am woeful in a fullsize goal (short arse with little agility:D)

Indeed, you can't really compare the two games fairly. Of course Rugby is also a tough sport, it's just different.

Armour alone can weigh 25lbs! And they are fit, super fit. In fact a lot of the offence are circa 10/11 second 100m runners. Impressive.

I saw the Monarchs win the World Bowl at Wembley :D Awesome!! I've got a genuine Monarchs game shirt too. Went to a SB a few years ago in London in a venue that was showing it, trying to decide what to do this year.

Didn't go to the recent Wembley game though, saw it on TV though. None of my mates are into it and it's not quite a fun treking up there on my own!!!

Now what would really impress is if you said that to them while they were lined up in front of you.

Would make a cool youtube moment methinks..

I'd be p*ssed at his comment too if i didn't know that Snooze is one of those very (ex linebacker) idiots.
