Made by the same company that made Alonsos. Their maxi version is being currently trialled by Alistair Darling. David Hemmings tried the earlier Megalash XL, but it kept growing during filming. I used to think like you but if the car has had regular service history, oil changes and isn't messed with by boost controllers and the like you should be happy in the knowledge that they'll last a fair while.
