Daston
Some things in this report would make me run a mile form the GT-R also looks like Nissan are really making people bend over for track days http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=17579 I wont be getting one! grahamc
I believe the ECU for them is already cracked...
Gaz6002
A few companies have already tuned them. Nismo and Mines being 2 I think I can recall reading about.
Rob Dublin
Numpty of a car if that's so. It's not a Koeningseg or Zonda that needs a surgeon to change the oil. Whole point was that it's an everyday supercar.
Daston
but the £500 health check bill after being on a track? And only delimiting on Nissan aproved tracks? Think I will be getting the 2008 Viper in a few years instead

Think I will be getting the 2008 Viper in a few years instead The Viper won't do 0-60 in 3.3 second though will it? Or have the advanced 4WD system, or dare I say it handle as well. Or have launch control. Or Japanese build quality. The rules you are reading aren't the law, just there to keep the warranty intact.

grahamc
besides, if you modify it, you wont have much of a warranty anyway

SMiFFAD
Wait untill they are old enough to be out of warranty, cain the behind off it and go about your daily business happy int he knowledge Nissan cant extract more needless money out of you.... Its all just to cover themselves from warranty claimes, and make more money. I fyou go in after a track time and they find a problem, they can charge you for fixing it "as you did it on track its out of warranty", plus make £500 more while they are at it. Or more likely, nothings wrong but they have £500 in their pocket and you have a stamp in yoru service book.... As opposed to you rolling in the day after your track day, with something broken and them not knowing quite how you did it, and having to cough up. As for modding, it would no doubt invalidate your warranty anyway, so no ones going to be doing much for the first few years, unless they dont care. The supra couldnt go over 1 bar of boost when it first came out... all it takes is a bit of electronics, and your off
Pete
I expect Nissan are just as interested to know how the car is fairing after being put into Joe publics hands on a track day too.

RobSheffield
The rules you are reading aren't the law, just there to keep the warranty intact. Which only lasts a short while anyway, and is often worth the square root of bu**er all your right it will do it in 3.7 will sound a lot better and probly turn far more heads and have a 8.5ltr engine .....and possibly have a penchant for embedding itself in hedges if the older ones are anything to go by
Daston
Actually the SRT gets very good reviews on handly the bad side is when it all goes wrong your going way to fast to do anything about it.
Pixelfill
the warning light when you change the wheels is a big issue though it's an MOT fail. Most of that sounds like good financial sense from Nissan. Mike
colsoop
If the review is true it makes the new skyline sound a bit weak and Nissan are lacking confidence in it.

dangerous brain
Alot of people have enough money to not actually care about the warranty. Also watching the ring video its fairly obvious that its going to be a very track abused vehicle.
Gaz Walker
All the Japanese tuners have changed wheels already, Mines have already cracked the ECU so I recon thats a load of cobblers. Gaz.
