  1. right er...so i turn the bolt a few times to make a gap then grab the metal thread tight to stop it turning whilst i continue turning the bolt with another spanner...
  2. oh ok with you now - so you grip the fat rubbery end v tightly to stop the thread turning?
  3. so basically i dont need to remove front drop links and dont need spring compressors for removing and replacing my units. i aim to simply undo the bolts holding the shocks onto the bonnet and bottom securing bolt to the wishbone. then with a big lever, i should be able to force down the wishbone...correcto?
  4. so the new ones have a allen key socket but the old ones dont? i need to get mine off to change front shocks (but some here say you dont need to on fronts) and dont really wanna pay for new ones.
  5. hello there! on that pic of the links (are they fronts?) - is there a spot for an allen key to go into so the bolt can be removed? after a few turns of mine the whole thread turns with the bolt so it dont move!
  6. Deposit taken. Thank you all for your interest. This baby looks like its going to a good home but I'm sure the prospective owner will reveal himself once he's booted it several times up the motorway!
  7. i wish i knew - i needed people to describe the mods on my TT from calls on autotrader and this forum. After one year of having it i finally wrote my advert correctly!
  8. Very pleased with the response to this one but I've added some pics with spec for your attention. I am assured the condition is excellent inside and out. I hope to get hold of it in two weekends time where it would be ready to go. I might even keep it if I get the hang of the manual transmission! To give you some more detail on the car, '96 NA in white. Imported in 2004 (one owner) Grade 4 import (i.e. good condition and non-accidented) MOT for about another 9/10 months (need to check on dates for you) CAT 1 Thatcham Toad Alarm/Immobiliser Recent service with new platinum plugs, filters, top spec oil, etc (receipts for this). Receipts for other checks too including suspension and wheel alignment All docs including a ton of Japanese stuff - cant read Japanese though Computer is actually showing 58,000 miles 2 month old set of Ultralite wheels (19's) on with new tyres (goto http://www.ultralitewheels.co.uk/WP-757-EVOLVE.html). 3 month old Original toyota body kit on, with the exception of the front bumper Custom exhaust made by Chris Wilson, which was based on an existing Toyota exhaust (ie. small and relatively quite), but with a wider mid-pipe and end for improved breathing. It houses the 2nd cat but not the first. Alpine unit added The car inside is immaculate. Not a mark anywhere. Totally unmodified, with the exact same spec inside as out of the factory. Look forward to receiving your pms / texts / calls. Cheers. David (07886001454)

  13. hi, i will likely be taking stock of a white soop. basically i'd put it up for 5k - 55k miles, custom exhaust, manual, serviced, MOT, tax, at least 18" alloys (or 19") and good tyres, front bodykit, good clean inside and out. great example. pics below. please pm if interested and to receive a few pics. looking for about 5k. Thanks, David

    Gutted!!

easy mate hope it all gets better. you'll certainly come out the other side of this on a mission.
  15. hi, i might be taking stock of a white soop. i know these are seriously popular colours in jap but wondered if that transfered over to these shores. basically i'd put it up for 5k - 55k miles, custom exhaust, serviced, MOT, tax, at least 18" alloys (or 19") and good tyres, front bodykit, good clean inside and out. ah prolly the wrong section for this but wanted to gauge demand. please pm if interested. Thanks, David
  16. i dont reckon you always need em taking the shocks out but you certainly do when putting back in. to be honest, all this talk of dropping out - i wrestled my struts all the way. maybe the length matters but even getting my oem bilsteins in required big force from a thick long screw driver to push the bottom of the shock over the wishbone.
  17. i bought Brakleen from the states (not sure if thats just the name of the leaner spray or the brand of plaint too) - £20.
  18. yup bought mine off ebay - i put one coat of red paint on my fronts today and have gold Supra lettering ready to go on after my second coat. paint is red, black, blue, silver, gold. wording follows a similar colour scheme.
  19. well i sawed off my rears with a coping saw and stuck new ones on!
  20. cool - what colour was it? - not sure how white fairs up in the UK?
  21. hi there, just wanted to know what you guys would pay for a manu NA 55k miles (White colour) with either 19" alloys or 17" standards. good condition inside and out. custom modded exhaust. serviced. i might have one up for sale soon so wanted your opinions. cheers, D
  22. really - i didnt see a hole for an allen key in the drop link?
  23. eheh i would think about it but my car is likely to be off my drive way soon and finding a home in Cheshire
