  1. umm if the chap at the yard handed em over for free...unfortunately i bought these and didnt need em so no charity from here!
  2. Hi there. Garage clear out - standard front KYBs. Black in colour and in perfect condition. No leaks and rubber protection uncompromised. £50 for one but £80 for pair. Fit now or use as backup if your shocks develop "play". Hard to find nowadays! 07886001454 Cheers, D
  3. Need4Speed - other thing is the boot rubber pads - they harden over time and knock. best thing to do is get a car cleaning sponge and shut your boot on it (clearly the boot cant shut cos you rest the sponge on the rim) and take a gentle drive over a crappy road - see if the noise goes away. To check bearings - take it to a Toyota garage and it'll prolly cost you 1 hours labour for em to do it. D
  4. nic - thats a great price for links! £38 + post beats my £84 + pick up. btw - for anyone trying to shake off road noise and suspect drop links, just take a good look at the rubber seals to ensure they aint perished first. dont spend the money if they look ok cos its likely to be top-mounts on your shocks or just a v hard shock setup (i.e. v high spring poundage). Final port of call is worn wheel bearings which can be checked v quickly at a garage. D
  5. Hi there, Garage clear out - 2 standard front KYB shocks for an NA in fine condition. No leaks and rubber gaiters fully in tact. Useful spares if your ones develop any undamped travel or "play". Only £50 each or £85 for pair. Cheers, D
  6. do some interior shots! or are you waiting for the gauges? mind you, once the kit is on then you'll need to retake the lot! the final final thing to do is stick those halogen lights in - then that car will be as good as new!
  7. with the weight of these things - id go more on the high 6s too.
  8. blimey that was fast! (responses i mean!)
  9. Chaps, Does anyone know what the 0-60 time on a standard NA is? is it early 6s? Ta, D
  10. ooo nick you've gone to town on that motor since you took it off me! gotta say tho, the rear dont look bad at all with that spoiler! get a close up of the gold Supra decals and some interior / boot shots! fine example of a technologically advanced slick tiptronic, VVTi, in fine running order. the alloys were refurbed early part of this year and finished in pricey smoked chrome.
  11. yes yes i know its a supra forum blah. thanks for the contact - i'll see if i can get the low down.
  12. Guys, Any ideas? I'm looking at buying an old scooby turbo (about yr 2000) but have heard that they need engine rebuilds after about 100k - is this true? Cheers, D
  13. yea i mean the general view is that you will be able to buy cheaper if you import yourself. to an extent that may be true. but its worth pointing out the risks of doing so, which from personal experience are: 1. even though the auction report said I had 50% tread on all 4 corners, the front 2 were unevenly worn so I spent £250 on rubber and £100 on 4-point wheel alignment 2. the bodykit smashed on the boat ramps = £300 3. the suspension need replacing for UK roads = £400 etc etc 4. + u cant hear the engine idle on an auction report! 5. its been serviced over here whereas buying direct you have no idea of Service History Having done it - if I was looking to import, I would only do it on unmodded cars. I would buy a restyled and modded car if I could see it in the UK however. Cheers, D
  14. Jake - you got big breasts in that photo.
  15. ah so adjusted for inflation at todays prices -
  16. is that all! blimey - thought they were way more than that! god im such a
  17. aint that how much they costed new? obviously not!!
  18. no no no that is too damn cheap. mods - get a good set of alloys for less than £1k then set it off with a front wing = finished. VVti increases economy and torque and economy, which is particularly good at low revs on hills. You couldnt import a quality example for that price. I found the near stock VVTi plenty powerful - powerful enough that I couldnt lay all the power down without the back wobbling. I would pay for a stock VVTi without mods. also, note the changes happening in the Japanese economy. They are getting over their fear of second hand cars - recent economic data at car dealers suggests this. I wouldnt be surprised to see marginal increases in import values over the coming year as the Japanese employment and pay increases kick in. The economy is emerging out of its deflationary period finally, and so prices will increase. look. my 1993 cavalier is on 176,000 miles and I still blast 95 mph on the m-ways. my neighbours Astra Estate 96 is on 360,000 miles. Wake up - 100k is not much in the modern era, especially for a £50k+ sports car holding a high tech and modern engine design.
  19. well dont go sticking those astra lowering springs on it for gawds sake!

    McLaren SLR

well whoever manages to get that deep rough rumble with a turbo that sounds like an X-Wing from Starwars is onto a winner.
  21. umm thought that NA looked familiar! nice touch doom.

    McLaren SLR

as far as im concerned, the SLR is the best sounding supercar ever on record. sounds like a spitfire.
