  1. Just seen this thread. OK the reason we advise the 2mm head gasket is that the head will be skimmed whilst at the engineering company and I know we are only talking about Thous being removed. Cam choice is also a factor as is boost levels and petrol choice. Our engine builder Pete has never put a foot wrong on the 10 odd engines he has re-built whilst we us. At the end of the day the HKS 2mm HG is trustworthy and proven, we will continue to recommend this to our customers who are going for a high build, high performance engine.
  2. 1: Only keeping it oiled. 2: Yes it was. Well after much thought and the kind lend of a set of trade plates I will be at the ACE cafe on Wednesday. Been trying to work out the gas cost for the round trip. Car does 6-7 miles to the gallon, klotz costs us £79 per 5 US gallons (18lt) so should not be to bad at around 160 mile round trip:d
  3. Guy.s he is right will only do 15 and those who came to the shoot will get first dibs, however if anybody has a DVD multi burner then please feel free to offer a hand:d Will get James on it Saturday.

  6. Hi All, OK the video has been supplied to me on a DVD and I cant seem to break it down for edit to enable me to upload some clips. James is over to our place on Saturday and he will do it for us and put some clips up for you all. Due to copyright we can only publish a few clips at the moment, however if you would like a full copy and promise not to display in public or stick on the net then PM me and I will get some copys rolled off. Again sorry about the wait but my IT skills are not as good as I thought they were:)
  7. UPDATE: Ok pipe was replaced and mapping continued. Had a quick chat with Dan and informed me that all went well. Just waiting now for Jake to fill in the blanks.
  8. Update: The return pipe had burnt through and the oil was going onto the manifold but only the return pipe was damaged:)
  9. Hi All, Just been speaking to Martin who owns the rollers and it seems that the problem was the oil return line, it had been too close to the exhast, and it seems that it had been like it for quite a while. Whilst they were doing the first run they noticed some smoke from the engine bay and shut the car off, there was a small flame on the pipe which was put out quickly without any damage to any other part of the car or engine. As I am typing this a new pipe is being made and will be fitted at which point the mapping will start again. As you might imagine if this had happend on the road Jake may not have noticed the smoke and the outcome could have been very different. Perhaps now is the time for all us single bods to check our oil feeds and returns as no matter how secure we think they may be there is always the chance that something can come loose.
  10. Hi All, We now have a copy of the Music DVD. I will post up some clips later but it is mho it's awsome The video will be up on Sky soon and again I will post up the air times and dates. See ya, Greg
  11. *POSTED UNDER GREGS ID* Dturne81 wrote; It was I that mapped Gamers car on the dyno. I am slightly offended that someone would think that the results are being manipulated to give "Customer pleasing results"...... With the way that correction factors work if I had set a lower intake temperature then the correction factor would actually REDUCE the engine corrected power figure. (Cooler air boosts performance correction factor allows for that) When dynoing cars the inlet charge temperature is not taken into account (Although it is an input to the ECU). Only the ambient air temperature, intake air (Air going into the filter) baro pressure and vapour point are taken to give correction. Just as a bit of background info. I have been running engines on dynos (Engine test bench, rolling road & Hub dynos) for 10 years. This includes F1 engines, BTCC, GT-LM, WRC, Automotive projects, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ford, Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls Royce and even some aircraft developments. I have commisioned dyno installations for automotive manufacturers that have cost in excess of $2M so you could say I've a done a dyno session or 2 in my time. As I said I am a little offended by a couple of the remarks in this thread but I do understand that there are some dyno operators and dyno figures out there that are set-up to give "customer pleasing results" My dyno is not one of these. As a last thought I would also like to say that BHP is irrelevent.... Its torque at the wheels/time that is important to me as that is what actually accelerates a car down the road. Regards Dan T
  12. Sorry Chris just to keep things right. The head gasket was renewed using a 1.6mm HKS metal head gasket. We only ever use HKS head gaskets as they can be supplied in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 2.0mm for higher boost cars. Anyway shame you are selling but good luck with the sale.

James, How did the drive home go after the rod trim ?
  14. Thank you robert. Just one other question: Is the NA auto box the same as the TT ?
  15. Can someone answer a question for me. Will an Aristo 2JZGTE engine bolt on to a MK1V Supra Auto Box ? Thanks in advance.
  16. Blimey James you did notice we changed a manual to auto then
  17. You cannot go wrong with CW pads ands discs. I am still Jap spec all round but with full CW pads and discs and mine stops perfectly, best investment I made on my car IMHO.
