  1. It was the 2nd ring on the piston that had snapped in two places and had been caught and trapped. The other ring and oil ring were ok, all the other bores and pistons were in quite good condition. Sorry forgot to mention that it would not have been anything to do with the twins going west and I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with the boost being turned up, just ring failure in a tired, worn engine.
  2. Should do but will not have the gas kicking in until I hit 2nd. Also have to take into account that the car will be held on the trans brake at 5500 rpm just 500 rpm before stall, so both tubbies should be online at that point, and the redline will be at 8500 rpm mind you we will have to see where the power curve peaks in order to determine where will be the best shift points. So come on which turbos should I use ??????
  3. RIGHT YOU LOT I NEED SOME HELP. DO I USE THE TWO GT45s OR DO I USE THE TWO T88s ??? HAVE BOTH SETS NOW AND CANNOT MAKE MY MIND UP. Ok back to the build: Autobox and convertor now machined blanced and ready to rock ( fook me the cost of the engineering work was more than I paid for the box) Engine, well what can I say still away being done, you would think that they were casting the bloodly thing from scratch but I do know that pining the main caps is a real arse of a job so I suppose it was bound to take time. Everything else is in place and ready to be put together so once the engine is back it will be full speed ahead. Will post up some more pics later and a bit of a write up on how they matched the box and convertor to the 2JZgte block. Right more in a bit:)
  4. Been thinking about this all day Gaz and I think I can do it no problem. Just waiting for the painter to come in drunk again and then I will ask him to do yours:d
  5. New body kit test's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCDq9b-Fua0
  6. 2nd prototype http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT60SkXN1UY
  7. Of course it does. It has direct, direct, direct piston No2 with a 11000 shot
  8. My new set-up for this season and no taking the piss. 8000hp 26,000,000 ft lb Gaz: You want me to stick one together for Ya ???
  9. They were on his car before he got his brain tumour:)
  10. Do not drag us into this. We cannot be held responsible for things that other people say. Never has any figures been quoted for his car and quite frankly I am surprised that he has claimed such a high figure. Yes we did do the FFMIC but I am not going over that again. Now before we go any further I must admit that Jamie is a nice lad, always polite and respectful and whilst I do not share his vision of how his car should look I cannot knock it either as we all have different tastes or outlooks on what we find pleasing. If we all were to have a good look back out ourselves and the things we thought were great at that time only to realise now that we must have been right prats but with age comes enlightenment and better taste. Let’s face it someone out there is making a lot of money selling those bodykits and it seems people are buying them, and NO NO NO I NEVER WILL;)
  11. Just to keep things in perspective here the reading was between 150 and 152 psi across all six.
  12. Good job you dont have loads of power then:p
  13. Always Head Off, the only sure way to make sure everything is OK.
  14. Make it even slower you mean:d Good luck for the 25th March by the way.
  15. Just a quick one. Change of plan due to time, we are now going to be running 2 x Greddy T88s TO4Ds. The adaptor plate is now on the box and the convertor is being machined to fit the stock flex plate. Boot floor and stock tank have now been removed and plated and fuel cell in mock up position. Touch and go for May meet. More info and picutres soon:)
  16. To be honest Ian we have always had goods from Dusty within 3 days's of them being ordered (Providing they are in stock) All in all his service and shipping has been 1st class, in this instance however I do believe it is down to Customs. If my post has been mis-read at no point have I any complaints against Dusty.
  17. To be honest John I am very frustrated by the fact that both yours and my parts have still not arrived from Dusty. Like yours these parts are vital to us in enabling the car to be put together before the may meet. As it is we are now up against the wall as a number of other parts from USA suppliers are also somewhere between Us Customs and UK customs. It is more likely that my car will not now be ready until the June meet as our customers cars come first and mine takes a back seat. I had set aside the next 4 sundays to try and do the work but no parts = no work. All in all it would have been quicker and proberly cheaper to have jumped on a plane and picked them up in person.
  18. Sadly Rob it will not be for the road although I do not rule out the Odd trade plate run down to the Ace Cafe:d Shame we cant work out a way to run three tubbies, would no doubt look good but I am sure would run like a dog if at all:) Hope to put up some pics of the new loom tommorw.
  19. 1 picture of turbos in place ( yes 1 is the GT45 the other is a T88 just so we can get and idea of how it will all fit.
  20. Hi all, Sorry lost the Mem stick so will post pictures up in the morning. Fuel cell is on the way, had it custom made and they charge a very low price £95. Chrome molly prop has now been cut and shut so should go on quite easy ( We hope) Real shit bit of news seems that we can only run 3 and a half inch down pipes as even with part of the firwall removed the back turbos downpie would intrude into the pedal area by 35mm (just two much of a burn hazzard:( ) Other than that all things are go apart from the engine still not being back yet, the work on the head has revealed a number of faults that will take longer than planned to put right. Ok that's it for now.
  21. Thanks Nic, Dont suppose you know the full spec of these ? Not much about them on the web site, nut they are cheap.
