  1. Couldn't log the timing. It was the E-manage blue. I'd be suprised if burn rate alone could amount to 45 hp with no other adjustments. The guy operating the dyno said he'd seen similar things before with aftermarket ECU's that were running knock control. Power wise, it ran 469 rwhp @ 1.4 bar and 564 rwhp @1.8 bar and racefuel. - That was on a Dyno Dynamics roller.
  2. I'm with Wez on this one. Except I believe the ECU will always attempt it's maximum ignition map, and retard timing if it detects knock. I don't think it stores the fact that it had to retard the timing on its last full throttle cycle, it will simply advance as much as possible, and retart 'x' amount on knock detection. My reason for this belief is because I have had my car on a dyno whilst tuning for normal road fuel with an E-manage. Once we had finished the road fuel map, we started to map for higher boost using race fuel. - I emptied the tank and re-filled with Klotz 118, and ran the dyno again, with no alteration to anything except the fuel, and the dyno was shwoing about 45hp higher than previously. The E-manage cannot take advantage of better fuel. The only thing that could have altered is the stock ECU and maybe the engine had cooled slightly in the 5 minutes it took to re-fuel. I doubt 5 minutes cooling would have added 45hp by itself, and we didnt notice any significant drops in output as we continued, and besides, we had two damned great big fans inches from the front of the car!...
  3. OK, first thing you need to be aware of is that the M30 is a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser. Therefor, nearly all the cables will be black. Originally, these black cables would have had numbers on the end of each, which would have been cut off during installation. Some of the later M30's did have coloured cables for the alarm section and black for the power and immobilier circuits. To follow, is both numbers and what colours related to those numbers, and what they're functions are:- 1 - Blue - Interior light pin switches (neg) 2 - Blue/Red - Boot switch (neg) 3 - Green/Black - Low current programable output 4 - Green/Red - As above 5 - Black - Earth 6 - Black - Earth 7 - Orange - Ignition sense 8 - Red - 3a 12v 9 - Pink - Central locking (Configurable) 10 - Blue/White - As Above 11 - Black - Immobiliser circuit 1 12 - Black - Immobiliser circuit 1 13 - Black - Immobiliser circuit 2 14 - Black - Immobiliser circuit 2 15 - Red/Yellow - Indicator supply (15a) 16 - Yellow - Indicator output 17 - Yellow - Indicator output 18 - Green/Orange - Accessory output (neg during trigger) 19 - Green/White - Central locking (Configurable) 20 - Pink/Black - Central locking (Configurable) Any of the options CAN be set up using the alarms keypad IF you know the pin code. The best way to set the system up is using the CP1 programmer. Good luck!
  4. Immersed in learning all about American vehicles! Yep (But I've got a couple of days off, my phone is flat and the charger is at work! - I should be available anytime from Thursday onwards though. You're welcome.
  5. That could be your boost controller solenoid. You could do with getting a 5mm thick rubber pad to sit the unit on. Obviously the rubber washers didn't work!
  6. Should be in the drivers kickwell fusebox. Sorry, can't remember what number though Yes, it should be a plug on the gearbox http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdfInstallation/45.pdf
  7. Congratulations on the sale, but sorry to see it go....
  8. I remember that one! Turns out simply to be the kickdown switch at the bottom of the throttle pedal. It feel like its pushing back if you release a bit of pressure from your right foot
  9. One of the cheapest advertised in the UK... And even better, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the car. No dodgy history, no outstanding finance, no hidden accidents. Purely a trade sale. Still has its full Honda warranty.
  10. Yep, still alive I don't get on here much, (as you've noticed!), and had about a zillion unanswered PM's! - So sorry to anyone out there that thought I was ignoring them, although after a brief scan through them, I think I've spoken to most of them in one way or another... I've been quite busy trying to educate myself on the American car market, and tied up with Phoenix and other Supra's on my days off. Now that the lucky bugger has departed for Oz, I should get some free time back!
  11. We took this in part exchange and 'did' have a trade underwrite for the car. The trader seems to be having difficulty parting with his cash, so I thought I'd offer it up here if anyone wants a bargain. New shape Honda Civic type R-GT in black. Registered March 2007 1 owner Full Honda Service history, last serviced in April this year 18,000 miles Near perfect condition. It has some minor scuffs on 3 of the wheels, and two extremely small carpark marks on the rear quaters, barely noticable. £12000. - No offers.
  12. Could be arranged We've got a couple or really nice Mustangs in at the moment. 430 bhp supercharged V8 on light boost... full warranty and plenty more to go!
  13. Thanks guys. I'm actually avoiding hands on tools as much as possible these days as I'm getting back problems in my old age I still do a few Supra bits though as I enjoy the cars and the people. I'm working as a sales person for Newport Imports, which means I get to play with all the nice cars and stay clean all day! Paul, it's the same company as next door to Rebus, but I work in the showroom at Maidstone. Little Mark works at the workshop next door to Rebus though.
  14. Sorry guys, I've just started a new job which is taking up a fair bit of my time at the moment, (Lots of spec learning to do), and I don't yet have internet access. I'm hoping to get that set up in the next week or so. For anyone interested, I'm now working at a company called Newport Imports USA. Lots of nice cars and things to play with Darren, I got your message earlier in the week, and have been intending on calling back ever since, but for one reason or another, just haven't got around to it yet. But don't panic, I do have the 27th pencilled in for your car. Darryl, I'll check my E-mails now...
  15. Engine Advantages in Witham, Essex, they are HKS dealers and can map the ECU. They done a friends Evo 6 which had over 550hp and the feedback regarding the mapping was spot on. Speak to Paul (The owner) and the prices are way cheaper than the companies mentioned.
  16. CAP = Car Auction Pricing. It's a trade only database. They give you five figures. Cost new, Current Retail, Above average, Average and Below average valuations. It's far from the most reliable system for 'specialist' cars, but works well on run-of-the-mill cars.
  17. Because of the high pressure fuel system in a Supra, I doubt it would barely run for long enough to engage a gear! A Supra fuel system is around 30-40 psi at idle, low throttle. Assuming you're talking about an old carbed Mini, I'd guess the fuel pressure would be about 4 psi. Coupled to that, a Carburettor, (sp?), has float chambers which store a small amount of fuel.
  18. You can get a good, but not extreme system for abour £1k. Go for a proper AV reciever, a decent set of home cimema speakers with a subwoofer. Once it's all set up and you get all the true effects from a good action film, you'll never look back. A properly set up surround sound system isn't compareable to a stereo. With a DTS or Dolby Digital sound track, you get audio effects from the front centre, left, right and rear left and right too. The real deep sub-bass is taken away from the audio speakers and directed through a dedicated subwoofer, so that the normal speakers don't lose any quality during effects like explosions.
  19. The Toad Ai606 is probably one of the most stable alarms I know of. Almost certainly an installation issue, or damage to the sensors.
  20. Firstly, look at the main fusebox in the engine bay. Directly behind the battery. I don't have a handbook to hand, but I suspect you've probably popped one or more of the larger fuses with the clear tops. I know someone that has done this before and he blew three fuses. Hopefully it's only that.
  21. It may simply need the spark plugs changing.
  22. That's what I was thinking. I'd start checking fuses if so.
  23. I bought a Mondeo from Car Giant, (then The Great Trade Centre). They didn't give us the hard sell on either warranties or buying a car. I had to go into an office to ask for some keys, and they just handed me as set of keys in exchange for mmy own. Not a salesman in sight. my only quibble was when we went to pay for the car, the paying / collection process took 3 hours due to the vast number of customers vs sales people. It was a bit like an Argos style pay and collection process.
  24. I nipped mine up using the short end of an allen key as the leverage, so no major torque. No problems here.
  25. Very dependant on your background & which type of company you're applying to. The qualification is CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development). Some companies may provide you with this when you start with them subject to application.
